  • simplesmente perfeita. linda musica!!!!

  • Beautiful and inspiring.

  • I'm so amazed Zoe's music is still not in a film to my knowledge. I'm a film composer part time so if anyone I know that this sort of music is needed for many types of film.

  • She did the music for "The Devil's Chair."

  • Really? I'll look that up thx.

  • So beautiful. I play the violin, but the cello sounds so much prettier and I really want to learn, and listening to this makes me want to learn it even more. You're such an amazing cellist.

  • I love how Zöe always brings such incredible musicians on tour with her. The acts that follow her set - Imogen Heap, California Guitar Trio, Amanda Palmer - are always top-notch. She really knows how to pick 'em. :)

  • I could listen to Zoe's music forever

  • this is SO beautiful.

    i love this song.

it is my favorite by her.

  • Beautiful songgg. <3

  • La musica de esta chica y la forma en la que ejecuta el chelo es brillante . . . esta pieza en particular me hipnotiza . . . Excelente!!!

  • i hear this song every time i look at my husband. its just amazing. i miss playing the cello because of this and apocalyptica

  • That chord at 52 seconds is just... soo... wonderful. That single sound is probably my favorite that I've ever heard.

  • lovely, just lovely. Her form is completely original. How she thought of doing this is beyond me, she truly is a genius.

  • perfectly brilliant! 10/10! i found this link off an imogen heap vid, who u remind me of in a more raw way. this is such an emotional journey. i have no other words, u got me.

  • i'm wanting to step out of my comfort zone for now.... listen to music that's completely on the other side of the spectrum. so far I've enjoyed your stuff! i really love the song "we insist", It seems like there's a bunch of melodies that play at the same time, almost like a round/fugue. thanks for this music, zoe!

  • if you're looking for "different" music, have you listened to Amanda Palmer and/or the Dresden Dolls yet? Amanda was the singer/pianist of the two person band Dresden Dolls, which split (permanently or not, i don't know. Zoe Keating (and a violist who's name i cannot recall) are playing for Amanda Palmer now.

  • Amanda definitely has to be my favorite musician. :) Zoë's right up there, too.

The Dresden Dolls aren't split up, though! Both Amanda and Brian are working on different projects, but they're not actually split up as far as the band goes.

  • also, if you REALLY want to step outside of your music comfort zone (I'm just guessing on your music tastes here, but my guess is this will be new to you, since it is to most people), you should check out emilie autumn. her music is an acquired taste, but i love it. she also plays a mean electric violin.

  • yes, i've heard of both of these people. I'm actually a fan of both of them, and I've listened to their cd's dozens of times. This music is totally different though, since it adds an almost intimate feel, but leaves you wanting more and more loops to be added on. It's more like a "demanding" piece of work I guess.

  • yes i agree. i saw her friday and her music just made me wanted to close my eyes and take it all in, but at the same time, i have this thing where when theres multiple parts, like orchestra or choir and such, i like to watch and see who is playing what part.

i personally think its better when you can hear all the parts, but you watch the bow and can basically see which parts she is playing at that second.

  • yeah, i don't think she'd feel good if the crowd was looking in the floor in order to get the feeling of an orchestra. i mean, if you were Zoe, wouldn't you want people to look at you while you play?

  • true, but i could also see that she was lost in her own music. i love it when musicians do that. it just makes it feel more...personal? i dont know if thts the right word or not, but i defenantly know what your talking about

  • sweet, I love the Electric Violin! I'll check her out. :D

  • Check out Julia Kent. Her song Arlanda is amazing.

  • yeah I heard her stuff, she's the premiere cellist for Antony, right? She's wonderful

  • I just saw her two nights in a row with amanda palmer. Wow.

  • can i be you? the only possible way for that to be any better would be if imogen heap was there, too.

  • calms me down.. so much... wonderful.

  • Very cool! It'd be nice if the audio wasn't almost a full second ahead of the video though. ;)

  • what a privilege to see a amazing work of art being created , so very fine

  • So glad I found your music!

  • Wonderful stuff. I first heard you on WNYC's RadioLab and have been enthralled with your style ever since. Your photos are beautiful on your website; you've got a great thing going on in a world that tends to stifle creativity. Come to Upper Michigan some time :) Rock on! -Yooper Musician
