Theo recorded half or more of Phoenix Rising, but left the group before finishing the LP, so Barrington appears on some of the songs, notably "How Could He Hurt You?" By the time they performed "Stay" and "This is My Promise" live, Barrington was singling lead. You can hear Theo singling lead with the Four Tops; he joined them after leaving the Tempts.
