@danndan6 I don't think it's about the size of the brain in general, but the size of the frontal cortex that is responsible for executive functioning. Also, perhaps one must consider the size of the brain in relation to the organism's body... just a thought.
@EnflamedKamikaze this should be something that is so easy to find evidence for and yet there is none. non science being masked as science really tiks me off especially when it is on such a respected forum
Negative, capitalism is great and always will be sadly the government is in the way. The problem is the government preventing the use of resources and market competition in effect preventing capitalism. Which of course stems from unions and large corporations funding officials to make laws that benefit their own personal interests.
Interesting: organizations draw the wrong kinds of people to leadership positions by offering the wrong kind of compensation.
I thought of Star Trek's Star Fleet where there is no money system and frankly few perks. SF is fictional of course, but it's easy to see why more of the right people would become leaders in that system.
At the other end of the spectrum, org's that make all jobs commission-based actually defer innovation leadership (and compensation) to all workers. Money isn't bad.
The implications of this presentation actually support the need for large organizations to rule through deceit as people appear to be too gullible to be allowed the power of true democracy, yet people need to feel like they have power to be productive.
Further, large organizations would have to take measures to prevent "STOPs"...probably by setting up faux STOPs...again, to create the illusion that the people have power.
The majority of the power we think we have is probably illusionary.
At one point, he says leaders aren't very smart. Then talks about how our brains have gotten so big due to having to solve social problems. Obviously, followers have a part in these solutions, but the leaders are both a part in solving the problem AND implementing them...and communicating solutions is very social.
People dislike leaders who are horrible at implementing/communicating solutions.
So to be a "good" leader you have to be "smart" on multiple levels: linguistic, logic, visual...
@TheGoalSetter Leaders are not smart... Circumstance gives them power. When you go and meet a leader in today's capitalist society you will see what i mean.
One of the largest problems I see about corp america is: You are not following a leader by choice or because you need to be lead; you are following an assigned leader, or someone over you, so that you can function (spend money) in society.
The age thing is quite interesting. For instance, in FIBA World Championships, the two oldest players on the US team were the team captains, although the clear best player was one of the younger players.
I attended this lecture as I am very interested in this subject, but I was disappointed by the analysis.Maybe his research project has some future potential but so far it struck me as a case of finding evidence to support what you have in mind, not one of building and testing theories
u guys should make a FUN SKETCH of the history of leadership, that would make RSA a LEADER!
ur right, they dont wanna see us unite, everybody has tried to cover what already has been revealed of the way of life. BUT if a GREAT leader rises and followers soon follow him/her. Their seen as a threat or "anti-christ" (religion conflicts) to either the public or the ones in charge of it all (elite), and the media plays a big role there, and the people get only one side of a story these days :(
I notice that many people have commented before actually watching the video.
Many people hate to think that they are followers, yet they are without realising it.
Such as in these comments, shaurz thinks its just about bossy people and people who would rather not be forced to follow, yet most people choose to follow, they arent forced to. They look for leaders. People dont just want to do their own thing, because no individual knows everything and can do everything by themselves.
@dontblockmedk Hey, you might be interested in these links:
desteni. co. za

Zeitgeist is cool, but Desteni is based on detailed understanding of current existence and they are the only ones who also offer the practical solutions.
@V Thanks It is very interesting. I would be happy with a 'equal money' or 'social income' type scenario in the transition, but I think VP has it correct that money has become OBSOLETE.
Because as long as there is 'money for stuff', people will still steal more than their share. BUT if there is just an ABUNDANCE of everything we need, distributed to everyone without ANY FORM OF PAYMENT, ONLY then will crime be Obsolete.
@dontblockmedk Idea to not have any money at all is great, but it can not be implemented in near future because it need the complete change of informational infrastructure. The first practical step is just to change the rules of how money works, so it supports everyone as one and equal. Anyway even in case of no money you need something to measure the value the things and services in order to make any exchange.
@V I understand however money and credit is all FAKE, just numbers on paper and in computers. While changing how the money 'works' might be more acceptable to the brainwashed masses, it's not necessary or most beneficial.
Please think BEYOND the idea of needing to 'exchange' 'value'. If we produce ABUNDANCE of all our needs, we can just distribute it to ALL without any manner of payment.
This is the ONLY way to eliminate crime and social stratification, which all other systems perpetuate.
@T NO because the 'powers that be' spend ENORMOUS amount of resources MANIPULATING us with ALL media. I'd even bet that if we just took the resources they spend on brainwashing us every day, we would have enough to feed the world.
@dontblockmedk Well, have you researched in detail how Equal Money System is suppose to work? Yours and many similar question have already been answered in FAQ at EMS web site. EMS in nothing like current money, it is the system that is designed from the core to prevent any possible abuse and to allow dignified life for all. It is not some system that has a fixed set design, it is still evolving in every detail to be able to deliver what it has been intended for.
@V I have read all the website and faq. There are 2 problems with money property systems 1. they don't take care of the poorest 2. they don't STOP corruption of those who want more than their fair share.
EqualMoney DOES address #1, it does have a way to provide for the poorest. However, keeping money and property keeps the root of crime, which is allowing some to have MORE than others. Social stratification and class CAUSES corruption.
ONLY ABUNDANCE FREELY distributed to ALL reduces crime.
@dontblockmedk That sounds like one hell of an engineering task. I wouldn't expect that sort of thing to happen in the next 100 years unless there's some sort of singularity / dramatic acceleration of technological development.
@3Gyro They said humans would never fly, they said we would never get to the moon. And when I say 'they said' the 'they' is idiots who have NO clue what they are talking about. Before you make such enormously idiotic statements you should really do some research.
@dontblockmedk Note that I said "I wouldn't expect" not "I think it's impossible for".
I'd love to be proven wrong on that one, I just haven't seen much in the way of indications that producing a massive, massive abundance of stuff so that we can all live like kings is likely in the near future. I'm keeping open mind (checked by reality) on that, so if you have some evidence to the contrary, by all means, post a link to it here.
@3 Note that FIRST we need to create automated sustainable systems to produce abundance of the NECESSITIES. And at the same time or very shortly after that there will be an explosion of technology like you can't even imagine.
Technology expands exponentially EVEN in this corrupt and wasteful world. When all knowledge is shared and everyone is cooperating the speed will only increase.
If 'live like kings' you mean hoarding stuff and lording over people then NO, but High standard of living YES.
@j Thanks, at least one person is paying attention. I don't blame those other guys too much because I believed all the shit they are saying. I never checked if any of it was true, just spewed it, like them.
The moment I realized the root cause of our problems was 'money systems', I immediately had an epiphany. But it is a little disconcerting that I have to explain it in the most simple terms and some of these guys still don't get it.
Shared resources + cooperation = prosperity for everyone.
@dontblockmedk I was the same until I discovered, (dare I say it) Marx's capital... Marx only fault is that he did not take his labor theory of value to its purest form, net energy. Food energy surplus (net energy) allowing human labor. Competition for profit then driving capital investment (increasing energy efficiency/net energy gains) that displace labor from an energy income (wage)... Capitalism was always doomed but its capital efficiency has given us the means to end resource scarcity ;-)
@ValentinRozman Wow, good comic relief. That Destini video you linked is ridiculously nonsensical, but it's amazing the girl can keep a straight face while saying all that stuff.
@pgunn01 The Desteni has over 1600 videos, explaining the history of mankind that can really be quite funny if one you take the Darwins's theory of evolution as a sacred truth. However many archeological excavations, like humanoid skeletons of giants more that 6 meter tall, or large human imprints, together with imprints of dinosaurs indicate different. Read the book "Forbidden archeology" an texts on the desteni.co.za web site. Remember, once the world was considered to be flat ;)
@ValentinRozman The beauty of science is that it self-corrects. The beauty of cranks like Desteni is that they don't and that makes them so darned funny. It doesn't take a lot of effort to produce large quantities of nonsense - when the evidence says "it's time to discard your theory, it's silly", nonscientists just keep plowing forward.
Desteni is just like astrology, flat earthers, and the like. Humans never coexisted with dinosaurs. There never were Nephilim, and there is no Santa. Sorry!
@pgunn01 Based on your reply, I guess that you did not study the Desteni material in depth. So until you have not spent at least 6 months studying Desteni material, you are not qualified to judge, since you are just emotional reacting.
@ValentinRozman Do we need to study the writings of flat earthers for months to reject them? Perhaps Desteni helps make people kinder and better-adjusted people, but that does not make it correct. It stands at odds to science - that is reason enough to reject it as false (I do not think it is necessarily harmful apart from being kooky - don't know enough to judge that).
@pgunn01 It is not the rocket science, that humans abuse the natural resources, animals and plants without any consideration of life. Science just helps people to become better abusers. Human sensory system has too limited frequency in order to sense all dimensions of reality. And we are slaves of mind-consciousness system that produces thought, feelings and emotions. Animals are much more aware of themselves than humans and they do not abuse life.
@ValentinRozman You are mistaking values for truth. It may be true that your movement is good at producing good values. If so, that is a wonderful thing - like many philosophies and religions, it's doing something important. Unfortunately, it is attached to a lot of pseudoscientific error. Science and a good philosophy make for understanding and virtue, but if one wants both, one's philosophy should not stand in the way of truth.
We are animals, and we are more self-aware than any other.
@pgunn01 Truth is not not mind-based, it is what we all have in common. 1. FREELY Share ALL resources & knowledge worldwide, NO more money/property
2. Use LATEST technology to create an ABUNDANCE of all our needs, NO more waste/theft
3. Automate/localize ALL production and distribution, NO more central control/wage slavery
