Maybe what she says makes sense in Canada, where people realize the importance of not making yourself dependent on a FREE small check each month. Here in America, so many people think they deserve free money from the government, they make it their goal to do nothing to improve, just leech

"My wife recently witnessed someone using a food stamp card for gas and smokes.

The cashier was told by the women to ring the sale up under grocerys .The cashier/manager did it.Needless to say my wife was outraged told them both what she thought and left her grocery's behind that she was going to pay cash for.Our welfare system is being abused while I work 50hrs. a week to live I also pay for my neighbors smokes.I have many more examples like this I know of personally Its time to wake up."

You are so correct. It can happen to anybody. One day you are earning 40K per year, and then u have an life threatening accident, leaving u disabled.

In our once proud Canada a person would not have been left alone. It is quite the opposite in the new Canada of 2009. We are forgotten.
