k Now all i need is the wires and what size gauges they should be N all the wires id need. If there's any kits i can buy that already has everything i need it'd be easier tat way also.
I want to put two speakers onto my fourwheeler so i can listen as i ride.
I am thinking about two 4inch speakers and a 200 watt amp. I looked around and was curious if a 12v battery could handle this? i want it loud enough for me and people around me to hear but not cost alot. i also want a mp3 hook up thanks
@cowmilkify If your speakers are low enough on RMS (less than 40W) and your headunit has the outputs you can run 4 of them off the head unit and get a 5-channel amp for the other four speakers and two subs. Its kind of hard to suggest anything without really knowing what you have but that is a basic set up that would work just fine.
@Lionel2572 If you have two Dual 4 ohm subs go with the Hifonics Brutus BRZ1200.1D, wiring the subs to a final impedance of 1 ohm. If you have two Dual 2 ohm subs go with the Hifonics BRZ1700.1D, wiring the subs to a final impedance of 2 ohms. These amps are affordable and reliable.
@cwangtities11111 It depends on some factors. Do you have a Dual 2 ohm subwoofer or Dual 4 ohm subwoofer? Are you referring to 100 watts Max or 100 watts RMS? If you have a Dual 2 ohm subwoofer then go with the Kicker DX250.1. If you have a Dual 4 ohm subwoofer go with the Kicker DX300.2, this will leave you an extra channel which means you can run two subs on this amplifier.
@kendigjl Yes you certainly can. Use the front channels to power your front speakers, and bridge the rear channels to power your subwoofer. Be sure your impedance's are all matching and the power handling of each speaker matches with the amp.
@Blaze7757 Assuming your MTX TR5512's are Single 4ohm.. One of the better amplifier we carry that will produce 800 watts at 2ohms is the Infinity KAPPA ONE. It is a very efficient high quality class D amplifier that will run great on just about any electrical system.
i was going to get "2 12" Dual 4 ohm Type-R Subwoofers". would a "1700W RMS, Brutus Series 1-Channel Monoblock Super Class D Amplifier (BRZ 1700.1D)" be a good choice of amp to get?
@jaskil695 1700W RMS is going to be too much for those Type-R's. A great matchup would be the Hifonics BRZ1200.1. It's a little bit smaller, extremely powerful and push the Type-R's to their full RMS capacity. Which means - a ton of SPL!
@TNSxDYNASTYx An amplifier like the Pioneer GM-3400T is a perfect compact option that will push the subwoofers perfectly. Just run the amplifier bridged at 4 ohms for the 150W RMS at 4 ohms!
@Reidwr3 Two Kicker CVR subs will have a power handling of 800W RMS. Good 4 gauge amp kits can do 1000W RMS. It never hurts to have 0 gauge wiring in the event that you ever feel to upgrade the power handling, you will already have the correct gauge amp kit. However if you are looking to stay on a budget a solid 4 gauge wiring kit will be efficient enough. We recommend the Kicker CK4, Kicker DCK4, or the Stinger SHK641 for solid amplifier kits.
@Reidwr3 Sorry for any confusion - we meant if you were to buy a 0 gauge amplifier kit and ever decide to upgrade, you'll be prepared for the upgrade. The ZX750.1 amplifier would work perfectly with a decent 4 gauge amplifier kit. You could also use 0 gauge if you prefer, but the 4 gauge will certainly suffice. Go with a brand like Kicker, Stinger, Tsunami, Streetwires, or Monster Cable for some of the best signal and power transfer you can get.
@bsl3216 Simply install a 12-volt switch in line with the remote lead wire from your amplifier. This way when you hit the switch your amplifier will turn of fas to not draw additional power. We carry switches if you're looking for one as well.
@dre37able The Massive Audio N2 will have a total RMS output of 800 watts while the Rockford Fosgate T500-1bd will have a total RMS output of 500 watts. Due to this the Massive Audio amp will be more powerful than the Rockford Fosgate amp. Both amps are CEA-2006 Compliant so you will be getting accurate power, both are class D amps, and both are 1 Ohm bridgeable. You will want to go with the amp that has the RMS power rating which best accommodates the RMS needed for your application.
I bought a car with the exact same amplifiers but the left door speaker and subwoofer wont power. Do you think I am going to have to rewire everything? OR could the speakers themselves not be working? I have tried everything but the wires are a mess.
@iggy1008 There could be quite a few things causing your door speaker and subwoofer not to function. If the amplifiers are properly turning on, they may not be outputting signal correctly. You may want to check your speaker wiring, and also check for any inconsistent ground connections. Ground connections are extremely important to making your amplifiers function correctly. If the amps are turning on, but no sound from the speakers than it may be the speaker wiring
@iggy1008 It's always good to disconnect the negative battery terminal when you're working with your vehicle. In the case where you're disconnecting and reconnecting speaker wires it shouldn't be an issue though.
If you have a day to work on your vehicle, you might as well disconnect the negative terminal so there's no need to worry.
I have one 300rms 4ohm sub and want to use a 2channel amp bridged for 300rms at 4ohm. Is that ok or should I look for an amp with some headroom. I just want to add some bass to my car audio not wake the neighbors
@FourthBattalion That should be a perfect matchup. If the amp pushes 300 watts RMS at 4 Ohms bridged then it will perfectly power the 300w RMS subwoofer, and it will be a clean add-on to your system. If you crank it hard you'll be able to hear it clearly outside of the car, but it's not going to shake windows outside of your car.
@MarkyMarkEckstein You most likely have a factory amplified system if your vehicle came preloaded with 10 speakers. You most likely have tweeters counted with 10 speakers in your vehicle, so a 6-channel amplifier would most likely be able to work as a replacement if you're interested in aftermarket speaker options. You may have to research your vehicle to see what type of amplifier is being used. Give us a call to speak with a tech if you'd like some assistance. 1-877-289-7664
i got a question i got a 4 channel car amplifier 2400 watts ( max power 2 ohms 600 watts x 4 ,RMS power 2 ohms 420 watts x 2 , rms bridge power 4 ohms 840 watts x 2 i would like to know if is good for bass or for car speakers and if i can put the 4 car spekers and 2 subwoofer to the amplifier
@MrTiikys Your 4 channel amplifier would be best to use with 4 door speakers (1 speaker for each channel). If you're also looking to install multiple subwoofers, I'd recommend a separate Monoblock amplifier as well. You can also use a 5-channel amplifier which will power four door speakers and a subwoofer(or two).
@SykotheraP I'd say Kicker meets or exceeds both of those brands expectations. One thing you get with a Kicker amp - a birth sheet stating the actual RMS powering tested up leaving their facilities.
They under-rate their products, giving you more power handling from their woofers and more overall power output from their amps. I highly recommend Kicker for their easy installation, and their high power output, and their extremely high durability.
i got one question....i brought 2 ten inch ev speakers now im trying to debate if this 1000 watts two channel amplifier would fit the speaker.....the name of the amp is called Orion® XTR5002...it fits the high frequency as 2000hz and the ev speaker max is 2000hz so is that good?
5-channel amplifiers are great if you need to save space and have a basic system with low wattage subwoofers and speakers. Of course if you need a lot of power you wouldn't get a 5-channel, you would get a monoblock for your subwoofers and a 4-channel for your speakers.
5ch amps are crap, dont buy one unless the 5th channel is for a center channel speaker, the current draw on them is usually so low they never do rated power.
always go with seperate amps for sub and speakers, and to see how much of an audio system your car can handle, take ur battery voltage and multiply it by the amp output of your alternator.
for buying advice and what fits your budget, pm me, i will help u on every aspect.
why would a five channel amp be crap, you can buy however many watts you want for each channel..
and why would someone buy separate amps for each sub and speaker? i think people should buy a diff amp if they have a diff speaker..but if you have two subs there is no reason to buy two amps, when you can get a high powered mono block amp and hook both up to that.
hehe theres alot of amps with controls on the top, the mtx are a good example and i think its a good thing as long as they blend them in becuase they are easyly reached. i cant wait for the 2nd part, how much longer? and how many parts are there? im always refreshing and hoping to find a new vid from you seth. the vids are extremely informative but i kinda know alot about amplifiers so i hope you cater for us audiophiles and also post a vid on some extreme stuff and hope 2 learn new things. 5/5*
