Is the "de" at the end short for "desu"?

@rawkarpojk the ending -naide for a verb is like saying "don't do" something
like how -nai is like "not doing" something.

@SuperNEKO64 It just sounds more polite with the ne, as far as I know, otherwise it would sound like an order (don't drink too much!!!).

I suppose it's technically feminine but MANY guys use it. It adds a softer touch to the sentence. I'll just added a link to the description. Can you see it?
