funny how many people equate burst speed as the be all and end all...this is without a doubt an awesome camera and for many sports or wild life photographers am sure this sound is like camera porn to their ears..but its gets a bit silly when so many youtube videos show off this feature as if its a must have got to have selling point..

M16A3 shoots about 800-900 rounds per minute..that is 13.33-15 rounds per second.

Canon 1Dx shoots at 12-14fps...that is almost as fast as M16A3!!

14 and 12 fps is nice but what I REALLY want to know is what the f... do you need 14 or 12 fps for?! And what the f... is the point of holding the shutter down several seconds shooting millions of pictures?!? I can't image ONE situation where you NEED this. Even if you are shooting sports or things that go really fast - if your reaction is that lame that you NEED to do this kind of "video" you suck.

Otherwise - sounds great and makes people think you got some big hairy balls...

14 and 12fps is nice but what I REALLY want to know is how long it can shoot that rate in raw before the buffer chokes. Hearing the mirrors flip flapping up and down at an insane rate doesn't tell me crap. Tell me something that I don't know, that I can use or at least consider when buying this camera. We know it's preproduction- but still someone put the damn thing on raw/full resolution, and count how many frames it'll shoot till it frigg'n stops!

@ksearles85 ain't that too , 30 , only for in video mode, or known as 30 fps, even down to 25fps , you also can claimed that it is faster than photo mode. Still the video mode and photo mode difference, which is one is moving, one is still. In photography, 14fps , considered the WORLD'S FASTEST for currently. You only can find this breakthrough on Canon.

@mcphatstudios The specification from EOS 1D X is 12 fps in RAW format or 14 fps in JPEG, in photojournalism , sports , mostly or vice versa, are in JPEG for to save more space for high speed shooting to capture the moment. RAW is also optional IF not keen with JPEG format when shoot editorial purpose. For non editorial purpose, simply hobby shooter, sometimes, low res is enough to use to achieve high standard quality from the EOS 1D X itself.
