what's everyone arguing about... they're both 5.9 second 0-60 cars, it's a good match up, RX8 has a rwd launch advantage and accelerates well at higher RPMs, the Eclipse has MUCH better torque and more HP... impressive for a car that costs nearly $10k less... I love my RX8, these are both great cars...
@popniggers thinking about getting an RX8? well... I like it, it's a lot more fun to drive than a Eclipse (especially in the twisties), I pay $140 per month for full coverage insurance (I'm 28 years old with only 1 point on my record) so it's pretty high... I have problems with it all the time, that's my only complaint... everyone talks crap about the motor and says it's not reliable, that's BS, the motor is solid... but the cooling system is crap, coolant reservoirs are shit, and radiators too
@popniggers on top of that I've had several coils go bad and flooded/carbon locked it once that was a serious pain in the ass to fix... I'd say it's a GREAT car if you buy it new and have the luxury of a warranty, once my warranty ran out it became a real pain in the ass to deal with...
rx8 won. It's still in lead at 20 sec. the rotary engine would pick up once it's out of first. The rx8s accelerate faster in higher speeds. Eclipse would win if they didnt stall, but if on a race track, rx8 would catch up and pass in longer distance.
Rx8 was riced out :(

The Rx-8 lost.. Even tho he got 1/2 a second head start because the eclipse driver stalled.
