I too have the A720IS and yes they all have a high pitched whining noise in the recorded audio track when taking video. It turns out there is an "electronic buzz" feeding back into the audio recording when the LCD is operating. There is no way to turn off the LCD when recording video so the high pitch will always be there. Some sound editing software can remove that specific noise and leave clear audio. That's how I take care of the problem. Probably the reason A720 is obsolete now.
The camera in the video is a Powershot A560, not A720.
Might wanna get that fixed.

whille i am using the video there is a noise and my parents have the a 710 and the noise is less loader.
