  • I remember faking sick from school just to beat him. one of the hardest bosses in video games last generation.

  • Is this the trilogy form of this fight? Because at the end of the battle when the omega pirate falls on her, she looks different than this!!!hmmm..anyway!great job! I never thought about using power bombs though!!cool!!! :D

  • @OrangeGingerSpice Original, European Prime.

  • Watch out Omega Shock wave

  • I got two things to say:

    1. Imagine fighting an army of these things :P

    2. Unbelievably I beat the whole game on hard without dying with 85% of the items, and now I'm going for 100% without dying on a new game on hard :)

  • Hard Mode is so much easier for some odd reason.

  • @megatrondecepticon2 except for the wave troopers. It takes a lot more to kill them :/

  • 1:19 he flipped you the finger.

  • beat this fucker with 49 energy left no other tanks 3 Plasma Troopers up my ass and one Super Missle up his

  • I thought this guy wasn't too hard on normal mode, but hard I always get him to 1/4 health and die..... the stupid minion space pirates get me every time!!

  • I love this boss, too. Some people say its the hardest in Metroid Prme, I just think its the most fun. But yes, I do usually just ignore the pirate troopers and focus on the main event.

I discovered for myself the power bomb tactic. I personally swear by it. Blows off his armor fast, then I can hang back, jumping around like a maniac, xray visor on, waiting for the Omega Pirate to pop in again. Squeeze off a super missile. In easy mode it'll take him out in 2-3 hits.

  • @YaroKasear your right about tht its fun and easyy

  • you took much time killing the pitrates

  • If only the space pirates learned not to make their weak points so bright and illuminous.

  • @BigPapaBear1000 Too busy making TUBES

  • Phazon Suit acquired!

Her visor just made that suit name up lol.

  • Wow... I barely got by this big boy in normal mode. I was shaking then, I wonder what happens when I reach him in hard mode |:D

  • @PoopTruffles You'll get used to him. He kicked my ass when I first played Prime.

  • wow. i should try using power bombs next time i started MP1 over again (for that last damn scan, stupid plant monster >_>) i always use flamethrower when he's disappeared, deals alot of damage (of corse, lose alot missile than normal...)

  • Make sure your version is PAL OR POWER BOMBS WON'T WORK!

It seems it was either a bugfix or an addition to PAL. The Omega Pirate is completely immune to powerbombs on the NSTC version, from what I've been told.

  • @Phazonaddict hmm... will this works in Trilogy?

  • @killer11192 Don't have the Trilogy yet (laziness), never tried it. However, it should work if the code was compiled frm the PAL edits.

You won't know unless you try it. There's a save point nearby so you have nohting to lose.

  • oh yeah that remand me, i did try it and it works. saved me like 2-3 min on breaking parts.

  • @killer11192 Yeah it's a major timesaver.

  • It's not completely immune to Power Bombs, it doesn't damage him but it causes him to stop attacking momentarily, good only if you need to boost away from him quickly.

  • for me the creatures of this metroid are better than the others in the trilogy

  • good bro you are good like me other tip when he is charging power use the ice combo missile it damage is more than the power missile and charge plasma i dont think about using the power bomob good bro

  • Small tip. When Omega Pirate cloaks and you shoot, use the plasma beam, it's way more powerful. ^_^

  • I experienced the contrary with the Super Missiles.

  • the outwer shell of metroid prime is dead but the core isn't. anoyway Nintendo wanted samus to use the best weapon at the end otherwise there would be no use for the phazon beam. metroid prime is really dumb because it doesn't know that its phazon is used to fuel samus' best weapon

  • I should think that metroid prime is the eaaaaasiest boss cus it just the smae thing on normal difficulty. also the last battle..... WHY WOULD METOID PRIME MAKE A WEAKNESS. i found it easier to hold down A when the phazon beam acctivated and it took down his health this much: -- it took a while but i managed to complete it before bedtime lololololol

  • I always assumed Metroid Prime can't help puking phazon in the last battle. After all, it wouldn't if it were able not to. Maybe it's injured.

  • when he lifts his head to slam into you, if you time it perfectly you can shoot his face before he slams into you and it stops him. but when he has '-' health shoot more or less when he lifts his head and it will stop him

  • i have the wii triology version of this game and i finnaly finished it on hypermode difficulty with the fusion suit, which if you know metroid fusion, at the end of the game you get the 'SA-X' suit. So tat suit u get when omega pirate 'DED' which i thought was seriously good, but i know a good way to beet ground ridley

  • your advice in the video helped me loads. i should thank you on your 'use the power bomb' trick and 'kill the pirates'. they bith worked. thanks a bunch

  • lol no prob I guess. I find it interesting how people are still playing this :P

  • can you give me any tips or strategies for this fight cus i'm playing it on Hypermode and i keep ignoring the pirates and super missling his ass but the frigginf pirates always kill me

  • Just kill the pirates. They'll murder you if you leave them alone. Well, they murdered me e_e

  • they do the same to me. i fight him in hypermode in metroid prime trilogy and if i dont kill the pirates he summons, they kill me. its pretty hard and i have almost all the enrgy tanks in the game!! i only dont have one because you get it after you beat omega pirate.

  • Nice, I deleted my hard mode account and re=played on normal because I couldent beat this guy, 2 super missiles away from killin him, it was HARD... You Owned him, and if you DIDNT kill at-least SOME of the pirates, you woul'dve died, and you you know if ice spreader does more damage to him than super missile?

  • Last I tried I think Ice Spreader was a waste of missiles but I could try again sometime e.e

  • Dude you kicked the shit out of him! Good job! YOU are a real Metroid fan!

  • Actually I hate this video, but thanks, it means a lot :V

  • I remember when i first saw omega pirate move. 0:24 i was like, "Oooooh shit"

  • omega pirate isnt soo hard at hard mode :S

  • He is the first time you fight him Px

  • this bosss take me weeks to kill it when hes sumnon the priates .... SO ANNOYING

  • Yes, I hate that.

  • How is it you never ran out of missiles?

  • If you watched all of it you'd see I run out at 7:20.

Also, 120 missiles max, kept picking up missile ammo, that's how I kept firing for so long.

  • Oh, well, the resolution isn't that great so it was hard for me to tell.

  • dude.....dont waste ur time with the pirates around u just aim for the omega pirate....other than that great job.

    it must of been hard.

super missle dont do worth crap

  • Doing that got me killed a lot of times.

  • I recommend that you use the plasma beam to break their armor, even if it's good

  • Do you have metroid prime 2 echoes

  • Yes

  • How'd you manage to get all his Phazon Armor off with one Power bomb?

  • Proper placement I guess. The blast only reaches so high so you need to get close.

  • You should see a video of Samus getting the the Phazon suit in the NTSC version. She strikes a pose..a cheesy one, but it'd probably make you laugh.

  • Once I got used to it I was able to beat him in 2 transformations, love super missiles

  • Super missiles are my favorite beam combo.

  • The problem with this boss was you could get so many different colour orientated pirates after you at once if your not careful.

Trying to kill 2 power, 2 wave and 2 plasma or ice pirates at the same time is annoying, on top of omega :>

  • The wave are the worst too, since the Wave beam seems to be so weak. Plasma and Ice are relatively easy to deal with. Ice, you just charge once, fire and fire one missile.

  • ahh Omega Pirate the most annyoining boss from MP1. took like hour and half from me when i first time tryed to kill him on hard mode though i didnt use power bombs with those bombs he is piece of cake :P. still awesome video 5/5

  • Definitely. I remember when I first failed pathetically, to beat it.

    Thanks dood :P

  • the power bombs doesn't work in hard node

  • This is hard mode & they work. What.

  • sorry i thing i have the NSTC (USA) version

  • Yeah, they don't work in NSTC. It's fine, but I get tired of explaining to all the American users who view my video :V

  • Rofl easy with the power bombs all you have to do is morph up to him and it takes like all his armor away.

  • Yup :V

  • Hmmmmm.... you can beat this boss in 3-4 mins with one tip- Be Relentless. The Omega Pirate can still be attacked while injured, so you can fire 3-4 Super Missiles in quick succession to kill him quickly.

  • My video response has him killed far quicker.

  • Phazonaddict. I want to know how you connected your GambeCube to the PC? Is it some cord that plugs into the bottom? Can you please explain. I'd like to record myself playing Star Fox Assault.

  • My PC is specially made for this sort of thing.

I have a device embedded in my PC that has the 3 connections that you plug into the scart connector for the Gamecube. I plugged the 3 of those in and was able to capture the video using a program (that came with the system) called Powercinema.

If you want to record your Gamecube you'll probably need to buy a third-party video recorder.

    dvr . about . com / od / capturetvwithacomputer / Capturing_Television_with_a_computer . htm

    Look here for info

  • In my version the power bombs have little effect on his Phazon shields.

  • You live in the US, I am 90% sure you have an original NSTC version of the game.

Power bombs tend to do jack squat against the Omega Pirate in that game.

Dunno why they added the feature in Player's Choice and PAL versions. (European)

  • yeah boost guardian is a bitch

  • You get used to it after a while though.

  • Dark samus was easy and emperor ing final form was pretty hard that's why I killed him in a minut with the screw attack XD. Boost ball guardian, killed him on first try hard mode. Aint that hard, but he's a bitch cause you need some luck. Havent played mp1, but I have played mp2 and 3 on hard and hyper mode. This boss seems WEAK.

  • This video is so much better than that other one... I dont understand why you insist on refering us viewers to that one -_-

  • I did it roughly half the time, that's why I think it's better :P

  • hahaha! I did that too! the rooms leading up to him always scared me. all the dark phazon/metroid caves. I think i missed the missle station too on the first try!

  • I think the main problem is that it's so dark, it's easy to miss them.

  • i never knew you could use the powerbomb thanks now im bout to beat the game again easier

  • You can't if it's the NSTC (USA) version, unfortunately. I think it was a bugfix or added feature in the European version. Try it anyway. I didn't know myself until I tried it randomly one day.

  • do u hav metroid prime 2 and 3

  • Of course, my name is Phazonaddict after all :V

  • Of course.

    Boost guardian. Hard mode.

    > kirbyraeg.jpg

  • Ouch, that sucks big time :P

  • god the phazon suit looks badass :/

  • Definitely :P

I saw something that somebody claimed was a 'beta Phazon suit', it looked interesting to say the least. It was a sort of Teal color.

  • Only real issue after that is the pirates, those guys are -annoying-.

  • He gets easy when you know the pattern, but I had LOTS of trouble the first time I ever played, on normal. By the time I knew how to do it hard wasn't difficult.

  • Your Awesome it took me 6 times to beat that !!!!!:)

  • PROTIP: It took me that many tried too when I first played it ;P

  • *tries

    Also, thanks though :D

  • i think the real problem in this fight is that he calls the special beam troopers

  • They're more of an annoyance that become a threat in large numbers. Especially the wave troopers, they're the hardest to get rid of in a short timespan, only bested by ice troopers when you don't have missiles.

  • this guy might not be a chalenge for me cause i have like 11 energy tanks

  • Yeah it certainly LOOKS awesome, but you should worry more about doing it first, then looking cool doing it xP

  • I guess we all have our hardest bosses :P

(I used to do that before I discovered powerbombs out of a fit of boredom. Wavebuster? Useless waste of missiles :P)

  • Kick his ass, Sea Bass.

  • Must we rhyme, all the time? :P

  • Good run. I hope this comment won't make you kick yourself though... If you freeze an Ice Trooper, you can shatter it with a single missile; it could've saved you lots of time (maybe).

  • Thanks :P

Yeah I know of that trick, it's awesome :P

... However, I ran out of missiles :|

  • Make it harder(ON HARD MODE) by exhausting your missle supply and power bomb supply before the fight). the omega pirate isn't the one you should worry about when trying this, its the pirate troopers.

  • Actually a balance between the two is needed. If you focus on ONLY the pirate, you die (or at least I do).

When you focus too much on the troopers the battle takes too long to do/you die.

  • Has any1 ever tried using wave buster on this bitch when he is regenerating?? The only problem is those damn pirates. When i try to ignore them they damage me really bad. This boss sucks.

  • Personally I think the wavebuster is a waste of missiles. Only use is POSSIBLY on Metroid Prime itself. You can actually finish the OP in less than a minute if I remember right though O_O

  • omega pirate is easy... but i have problem because i have not get to him in hardmode yet i stil have problem with beating thardus on hardmode

  • It was incredibly hard for me, the first time I did it.

Ouch. Low % or just a normal playthrough?

  • You can scan the Omega Pirate B4 it breaks out.

  • I know I can. Did you notice how when I did scan it, it was instant instead of taking 5 seconds?

  • Yah, pretty weird...

  • I scanned it before the fight started, heck I scanned it before this VIDEO started :P

  • ...Makes sense to me (,.^.,).

  • lol :P

  • the metroid games ave alwais looked badass!

  • Indeed :P

I wish I could get the ingame models though. Unfortunately I don't how to do 3D programming (Or at the moment, C++) and someone who did make a model viewer has no intentions of giving out hers :P

  • yeah, i'll say it; the phazon suit is badass.

  • *nod*

  • "...what you wanted more? Go read a guide" ROFL! People want you to hold their hand. I remember James Hetfield from Metallica responding to a fan who complained that they never played Disposable Heroes, to which he responded, "Damn, do you want a sandwich too?!?"

And yeah, for a beginner like me, this boss is tough, as I only have 5 tanks, no power bombs, and no missile combos. Guess it's time to go back and power up.

  • I remember when I saw people asking for GMod installation help on a video that was just showing off a contraption -.-

    lol, nice comeback xP

To be perfectly honest I sucked at this on normal mode. Died a good few times before beating it.

Also, no missile combos?? No powerbombs??? The super missile and powerbombs are a required part of the game dood, what are you doing, sequence breaking? :P

  • Ok, first off--I GOT HIM!!! after so long, I finally beat the bastard, took about 20 tries total--yeah, I'm not much of a gamer. Anyway, I'm telling ya, no matter what I did, I COULD NOT PERFORM a combo or super bomb attack!!! It would not work!!! Missiles were fully charged and everything--a glitch or controller problem maybe? I tried for hours to get those to work and they wouldn't. For some reason, they finally have, and of course it made my encounter with Omega Pirate much more successful.

  • In retrospect, I'm actually surprised you thought I was sincere, I suppose if I were you I would think I was full of shit, as sequence breaking in this game doesn't seem possible, but damn, I tell ya the freaking combos wouldn't work! I still have no idea why they wouldn't, or why they are working fine now. I love this epic game, but there seem to be a few control issues, perhaps inherent due to the jumping mechanic in a FPS??? How does Prime 2 handle?

Anyway, thanks for the vid, victory!!!

  • Hm? I'm confused. Tried to fool me? :P

    Hah, dunno what caused that. Prime 2 handles the same way as Prime 1 o.O;

No prob I guess, heh :B

    I saw a video of someone beating the OP in less than like 1 or 2 minutes, with 0 energy tanks o.e;;;

  • Heheh, congrats :P

    Meh, everyone has their talents.

    ...what the fuck? Glitch o.O

  • This is my favorite Boss.

    Thanks for this vidéo.

  • No prob :P

There is a video response to a better play of this if you want to see it xP

  • r u 100 % this is hard mode cos i tryed the other day and i power bomed him and him and the pirates fucked me right up arse and did it again until i was killed

  • Yes, I took half the time on my second attempt at him on hard mode. This video could've potentially been ended before the second regeneration phase if it was normal.

    Do not ignore the pirates no matter what people tell you. I actually die (or come damn close to it) if I try to ignore the pirates. Kill as many pirates as you can until OP appears, then gun him down, trying to avoid trooper fire. Order of killing in terms of priority;

    Omega pirate :P

    Ice (Freeze and missile)

    Plasma

    Power

    Wave

  • thanks, well i had another go, the problem i am having is the main pirate himself, and the phazon on the floor, im in england so i dont no if the british version is making this harder for me, but that main never seems to die and unlike yours all my life is gone by the time those little pirates get to me, is there a way of taking out that big quickly without losing loads of health, by the looks of it i have more life packs than your save game iswell and he still kills me in record time

  • I use the 'british version' as you call it too, it is the European, or 'PAL', we both use the same version :P

Well if the Phazon in the floor is giving you problems watch your hazard meter and how it rises, and try to move accordingly.

    Launch super missiles when possible?

Avoid ice spreader, flamethrower, wave buster, ONLY use super missile combo if you ae going to use any. Missles are handy for this fight.

  • And something that people don't seem to notice about me is that I was never able to kill it for the first 6 or so tries on hard mode. First 2 on normal. I record these videos long after I've mastered the boss strategy. I mean, I've had Metroid Prime since it's release date, like. He IS hard, you just need to get the strategy to beat it.

  • thanks, whats the best way to keep away from him permantly and not get regulary ??

  • wat o.O

  • I have a problem.

How can i load video to youtube?

    please help me!

  • ...you click on 'upload a video', in 'my videos' in 'account' o.O

  • ok!

    Thanks.

    =)

  • hw the hell do u kill this badass on hard mode because i dont have a clue hw to do it can someone tell me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Do what is done in the video :P

Break armor-killing one or two pirates, when you hear a laugh, X -ray visor and look around, fire at him at much as you possibly can. Repeat until firing until he has his armor bback then repeat that until dead xP

  • WHOA WHOA, wait a minute!!! When Samus acquires her Phazon armor, she just slowly rises and stands there, but in the Metroid Prime game that I have she comes out of the Omega Pirate's body all twisted and twitching (corrupted), her entire body's shaking, then does a cool pose! Why's it different???

  • maybe you have an early version or something. *shrug*

  • oh, i think i know what it is. you probably have the PAL version, where the cutscene is different than the NTSC version.

  • they got rid of the scan jump in pal one didnt they:(?

  • And placed an invisible wall above the door in the large tree room before Flaahgra to prevent morph-bomb jumping over it.

  • yeah i know i tried it and i was like wtf why is this not working. also do know where i can get an emulator for metroid fusion from?

  • yup. ntsc is pretty much the better version :D

  • They removed several bugs in the PAL version like power bombs not affecting the Omega Pirate.

  • ok.

  • the phazon suit is pimp (by pimp i mean cool)

  • It's my favorite one in terms of colors xP

  • thats what i mean its cool. good vid btw. omega pirate is probablely my favorite boss in mp1. dont know if youve played em but do you think MP2 and MP3 went downhill from metroid Prime 1, i mean mp2 is just not as good but MP3 is too easy in the way of boss battles, just thought id get your opinion.

  • :P

    Third for me.

First, in terms of relation to Phazon, Prime 2 did nothing. But the game itself was awesome. Prime 3 IS easy on normal and veteran but hypermode without 100% is another story. Prime 3 was awesome, more so than prime 1, though prime 1 has classicness.

  • tru tru.

  • Heh :P

  • the only thing that sucked in the third one is that you have to kill rundas and he was cool.

  • Yeah, would've been nice if they didn't kill off 3 completely new characters in the same game they were introduced, but I guess Metroid is more of a solo thing.

  • at least if they kept one hunter in mP3 that would be ok. but your right metroid games are more of a solo thing.

  • teh boss that pissed me off in dis was the invisble drone, the one that guards the power bombs. also the fission metroids are annoying to.

  • It's not even a boss, really, more like a miniboss :P

But yeah it was annoying. Right before a savepoint.

  • but i couldnt figure out how to kill it. i do now tho. probably still not as bad as the boost guardian on MP2

  • ...shoot it? xD

That boss is horrible. Only thing potentially worse that comes to mind is Nightmare from Metroid Fusion, on 1%

  • mmmm havent done that yet as i dont have fusion, i want to get it at some point. i dont know where your from but here in australia if a game is over 3 yrs old its nearly impossible to find in a game shop.

    sighs*

  • Well try it normally first and when you get the hang of it, try 1% (missile expansion that is almost impossible to skip). Evil.

Emulator ftw. That's an alternative if you need one.

  • yeah i hear ya, but im kinda a noob when it come to emulators by that i mean i have no idea when to find one, if you know of any and you can tell me where it is that would be much appreciated.

  • But I wonder, which of the first two Metroid Prime games do you prefer? I personnaly LOVE Echoes over the first one, cause of the harder difficulty, it has more action and the creatures are just awesome. The backstory of the war between Ing and Luminoth is cool as well.

  • yeah but going between the light world and the dark world is a bit of a nuisence its still good tho.

  • where i can find the artifact of warrior.

I have to find all artifacts.

  • I forget, isn't there a guide on gameFAQs about those? O.o

  • the artifact of warrior is in the phazon mines, in the room where the laser beam is at the top (the laser that breaks the walls) , the will be a container with what looks to be a elite pirate, if you scan it it will say 'glass is damaged with traces of benzium or something" so use your power bombs on the glass fight it and kill it. you get the artifact.

  • this is my fav boss fight i love it 5/5

  • Thanks :P

  • ur supposed to pengish whip hem

  • wat

  • LOL
