Thanks Dave, you saved my controller, battery acid had leaked inside it and it wouldnt work anymore. Now that I cleaned it out with baking soda, I have a working controller. For anyone that has permanent damage, I heard that battery companies will replace your electronics devices damaged by acid leakage...

My controller is all fucked up and my mom wont let me get a new one. I can't even play any freaking games because the controller will turn off automatically and i dont even touch it. It also randomly turns off and dosent vibrate like when i shoot on black ops. It is also very unaccurate like when i push the stick to the left it does something totally opposite of what i want it to do. You mentioned there are only 6 screws, but there is actually a 7th screw underneath the barcode inside the battery compartment. Just so everyone knows...

Also, I used a bit where the tip could not fit through the hole at the bottom of the controller, so I used the hexagonal shape of the bit to wear the edges down so I could fit the bit into the hole without completely breaking the casing.

@12Pruden lol your controller is not broken all you have to do is go to options and change it. i think its called y something i wanted to say y axis but im not sure but its there.

I was playing the xbox when my controller light just went off.. It looked like it was switched off but i was still playing. Then after 5 minutes it switched itself off fully.. I left it for 2 hours, went back and the battery pack and the top of the controller was really hot.. Any sollutions? Please help :)

you dont know how a controller works you cant take a trigger out easily you have to use a soldering iron to taske them out-it is quite tricky
