I think I reversed engineered how they got these speakers to keep the same volume at greater distances from the speaker. The little speakers in the tower have a narrow vertical angle of projection, and this causes two things to happen: 1) The closer you are to the tower, the fewer little speakers are in their designed angle of projection to your ear. 2) The further away you get, the more the adjacent little speakers join together to become louder to your ear.
@mythhealer Interesting theory mythhealer, and could be correct, I don't know. All I know is they sound good and since 2004, I've loved playing in that beautiful Bose sound field. Anytime I have to play through anything else, no matter how expensive or elaborate, it's just not as good from where I sit. Thanks again Bose.
@ikciwon1 I've listened to to some A/B comparisons, and thought the Fishman sounded a tad bit fuller than the Compact. But I prefer the look and sleeker portability of the Compact

Thanks ikciwon1.
I liked you array comparison video.
Hate to admit (as a Bose believer) that I thought the Fishman SoloAmp sounded the *most natural*.
Comparisons tent do be subjective, depending on the room, the instrument, and the player.
