As a worker in America even in the year 2011, I can honestly say treatment, conditions, and wages whether union or not, do not meet my personal expectations. I suppose revolutions have truly been waged simply for better economic conditions respect, dignity, and freedom.

Unions unite against the bosses that want to pay as little as possible for as much as they can get from people. Since when idividuals vs. bussinesses in negociation the individual is at a natural disadvantage for obvious reasons. Collectively you achieve the standards of living we enjoy in UK, Aust, and for some the US. Simple really, even an idiot like oceanz4me should get it.
