Yeah just recently we rowed Saint Joe's Prep at City Championships in Philly. They got a 4:37 on a 1500 meter as a Freshman crew. We got a 4:56 with a crab. They still would of killed us though. St. Joe's is by far one of the best crews around. I'm the stroke seat for the Mainland Regional High School Freshman .
Speaking from personal experience, the weather at this lake has a tendency to be bad on finals day.
Last spring when i was there, the weather was in the 80's with almost no wind during heats, but the finals were delayed and some were cancelled due to a thunderstorm the next day. big head wind.
You can hear the wind on the microphone in this video.
yeah cuz in sydney the water probably doesn't have much of a headcurrent/headwind. and besides, these guys won henley that year...you can't honestly think that you guys were better
you are honestly retarded, SI was by far the fastest high school team for a while and there is a significant headwind during this race so u cleary hagve no idea what you are talking about
Alright the thing I love about this video is how close the announcer made the race sound at the end. We were never down to St. Joseph's. To answer the question below it is the St. Ignatius from San Francisco California. You can find more videos of our team on my youtube channel. Also the Australia Jr national champions never made it past the third round at Henley. We won that event. So you're right we are lucky we weren't rowing in Australia because it would have been a boring season.
if you want to see some good hard racing check out the Barrington Cup 2008 (Nationals Schoolboy race) in Australia. Fast time of 6:00 but the semi-finals were even quicker with 4 schools going under 5:53.
ballsgood69 (real mature username by the way) then y doesn't you junior nationals boat beat the hell out of everyone maybe its b/c your a fool...y dont you go hop around on you kangeroo's u jackass

This comment has received too many negative votes show
6 14 is a pretty shitty time for a national championship.
in sydney the schoolboy 8s tend to average around 6 minutes at a normal regatta and about 5 50 at national champs

6:14. Thats annoying- must've been a hard headwind. What were the 2k averages of SI that year? Ours were 6:35

uh, the rate is supposed to bring the rate down, but keep up power. It doesnt matter how high your rate is (or low) if you dont have power.
