Most people who study Reiki without being able to read Japanese have no way of knowing what is original and what New Age/Hindu based stuff was added on that has nothing to do with Reiki. Historically Usui never taught about chakras even though it is a valid part of healing energetics and there is nothing wrong with using it, it's just not part of the "original" Reiki tradition.
