  • I must say that I am quite jealous of you both. I'm not exactly sure why, though... I just... am.

  • this wasn't the best version of the variation but still it worths watching. i will be the sugarplum this year and i am checking on all the variations :)

  • It takes a lot of guts to get on stage and perform the Grand Pas...Bravo! Job well done!

  • I wanted to see him toss her up in the air and catch..cmon..

  • wonderful! =D

  • very very nice. Great admiration

  • That was good! I just wish the girl could have used her demi plie more. Then it wouldn't have looked so stiff. But good job guys! Lovely extension and the guy was a good partner.

  • the whole dance would look better if he had tights on... it would make them look a little more professional... sry i am just telling the truth keep working hard!

  • Performing arts is not just for the incredibly gifted to enjoy, it is for people of ALL levels--everyone should be able to experience the joy of learning, performing and developing some creative art and keeping it with them their entire life. My compliments to these young people, keep ART in your hearts your entire life and never listen to the nasty comments of people who think art is limited--when it has no boundries. It is they who have no vision.

  • good pointe work

    funny pants

  • for a student performance, I would say they are really good!

  • they make it look like hard work and it should look graceful

  • ????????:O

  • Yup - those pants are awful. I know some boys (and adults) find the tights to be uh... revealing. I guess some people tights not masculine; but come on, the jazz pants? So amateurish....

  • ok it was pretty i must say the girl carried herself pretty well... the boy looks like garbage in those pants i mean where did you go to school to think those are appropriate... the girl does need work she needs a bit more technique but otherwise it was nice

  • beautiful...

and I like the boy's pants, they look better than the tight ones ;)

  • what the hell is up w/ that guy's pants?!?!?!?!?

  • eehhh. not the BEST version i've seen....

  • may u plaz tell me wat is the real name of this song in piano? i wanna do it 4 my recital, but i dont no the name....thanks!

  • shes really not that good and not very flexible

  • ok. this is where the line should be drawn. HIS PANTS...are NOT APPROPRIATE...and i almost felt bad laughing at them..but i had to. she looks like what i would imagine myself to look like en pointe after only 6mos. of ballet training. sad sad sad. and they even almost fall at one point. back to the barre...please!

  • lei nn sa prpr ballare è un tronco....e magnatell na rsat.....

  • mmm...not the best i've seen. his costume is funny looking, and sometimes it looks like she is over-crossing her passe (sp??) and their lifts don't look strong.

  • This version did suck I wont lie. I see versions of petipa and actually Bejart choreography in here and its aweful on them. They are very inexperience and this piece is way too hard for them at this time. Cavalier boy---you need to wear tights ALWAYS! Why do a ballet without tights..unless you are ashamed ...if so then you shouldnt be doing ballet. Both need to get to class and NEVER do this piece again for many years to come.

  • sorry i meant to say not very fluent i no that sounds harsh but otherwise i doesnt make sense !!x

  • wow she has got perfect figure and feet but the man was proberli not the best match and it makes it loook very fluent but its very good from what looks like an amiture perfomance and i think many prima ballerina would be proud

    !!

  • horrible horrible. Perfect figure...not even close. Sorry but I disagree entirely

  • Ok sarahwaffle! I'd like to see you do that pas de deux!

  • ha like she said...shes not a dancer and she thinks this is even bad. I'm a prof. dancer and yes..this was BAAADD!

  • wow i'm not even a dancer, and honestly, this is pretty bad.

  • ew! she is not a good dancer at all and that is the ugliest cavalier costume i've ever seeen!! yuck!

  • wow like every video on here are older girls playing clara im 12 and playing clara i personaly think it looks better with a younger girl the older girl should be sugar plum

  • Ummm... this is the Sugar Plum fairy not Clara. How long have you been doing ballet?

  • Actually in some versions like mikhail baryshnikovs version Clara is the Sugar Plum and YES she is played by an older girl because the thought is that Clara is coming into Woman hood so the sugar plum would NEVER be a little girl.

  • i commend you guys. honestly it wasnt the best ive seen, but it was still worth watching. good job

  • people who are coughing and lettin their kids make noise during should be taken outside and shot

  • couldnt agree more lol

  • lol but they cant help it if they cough.

but i agree about the kids, yeah, dont take them to a ballet XD

  • I LOVE YOU ELIZA!!

and i love you too greg! lol

  • If Balanchine, Petipas and even Checchetti could see this performans, they would roll ih their graves! Shocked!

  • why is he wearing bell-bottoms? for those of you who are getting all pissed about the choreography it's going to stay the same. the only person to change it is balanchine.

  • Dont like it!

  • Where was this made? Is the dance company NRDC?

  • No, this was Cecchetti Students Ballet Company - now known as Cecchetti Ballet Theatre - in Connecticut.

  • This was not bad,.....of course Darsi Kristler did it better...:)

  • Eliza happens to be a very beautiful dancer and wonderful person. You should have seen her as Clara in 2004. I should try to put that video up because I was in it too. I miss everybody there!

  • I happen to think it was beautiful!

  • The girl is too shaky. Her turn outs aren't good too. Did you all see the attitude? I didn't favor it that much. And the she seemed too tensed that the boy is shaking with her too. they could make it better next time :)

  • She gallops en pointe throughout the whole video.

And yes the choreogrophy is lame

She looks like she could have been presented alot better.

    she has good extention.,

    Interesting to watch

  • Awesome...our school brings in the guest performers to do the men's lead also haha. Retired at 27 tisk tisk! I think it is excellent for a student/pre-pro performance. I'm still studying and teaching Cecchetti but most of the parents want a more structured syllabus...drives me nuts! RAD is so boxy!

  • How old are you both? I study Cecchetti method also, but unfortunately the demand for that style has been overpowered by RAD here :( Gotta love the Cecchetti ;)

  • When this video was taken, Greg was 27 and had been retired for four years, and Eliza was (I believe) 17, though she may have been 18 by then.

Thanks for the comment, and for keeping Cecchetti alive! :)

  • I am in the nutcracker and mine has better setting, dancers, and character!

  • You're being pompus. Even if yours had better setting and such, does not mean that it was overall better. It is the dances and how they are presented that matters. Setting and who dances the parts are all just detail work. Eliza must have put everything she had into working the dance, and I know for fact it is a hard long dance to do. I myself am doing this 2nd year now, and I still get caught of breath trying to perfect it.

  • the clapping is soo annoying

  • Hey! I know Betty! She works with my most beloved teacher, Denise Ribaldi, what a small world.

  • It is, isn't it? I know Denise, though I haven't seen her in years.

  • that guy does nothing! :S

  • heh...sorry to disappoint. ^_^

  • Sorry if that sounded harsh! It's not his fault, it's the choreography! :S

ps that girl has wonderful extensions!

  • do ya really think lifting girls over, and over, and over, and over, and OVER again is doing nothing?!?

  • where are you guys from? is this a company?

  • This was from a performance of the Cecchetti Students Ballet Company, a non-profit student company in Connecticut. Betty Seibert, the artistic director, founded the company in 1988 for students of the Cecchetti (Italian) method of ballet.
