My first association was with Sugar, Sugar by The Archies. "HOLLYwood" sounds a bit like "honey" when Ed sings it, "more than one man SHould" sounds a tad like "sugar."

I stand corrected. I just realized this song is almost exactly like the song Magic by the Cars! The first verse Ed sings is almost the exact words. First word is even "Summer". Guitar phrasing very very similar at beginning too. Wow. Someone in CS definitley is a Cars fan.

I'm a big fan since way back in the ninties but this song sounds like Sugar, Sugar by The Archies but like Collective Soul did a remake of it with different lyrics. Kinda like when Van Halen remade you really got me and pretty woman. Don't mean to sound like an ungrateful jerk. Just an observation from a longtime fan.

It's been a while since I've heard about Collective Soul. Anxious to see them perform on tour with Gavin Degraw. Liking the sound of this song.
