I remember when I saw this the first time. It had a lasting effect on me. The lives of two ordinary people played out against the backdrop of horryfying death.
When I watched the film for the first time some years ago (somehow I didn't see it when I was a kid), I had to go home alone through the night and I heard some laughter out of bright open windows. People crossed the street, comin from clubs or going to clubs. It felt very strange... after watching this movie.
You really should watch it. I think, its one of the most important animated films ever made.
Awesome. I watchd film last night with 11yr old nephew, havent seen it since i was about 6 yrs old, 20 yrs ago and i reckon i cried then.. It is sad. I'm a major Bowie fan (i have 20 of his albums) So imagine my surprise hearing him singing at beginning. I even knew he had a song called 'WTWB', but didnt think they were related. Bowie is The Man. Im downloading the song now to listen to later. I also downloaded the last track of the film which is great too. Cheers!

Your comment is the best...it is a more terrible movie than "the day after".

The lyrics in the third paragraph should read:
LIfe burns a savage wound, angry and raw
Trusting a twisted word, you'll run, run away
You'll take it all home, you'll spin a tall tale
But they won't believe you no matter what you say
Thought you'd like to know.

Thank you for the whole song!
Whereever I tried to get a full version, I didn't find it...^^
It is a great song!
And yeah, the film made me cry, too.
