  • MMP,

I bought my kk board in a kit form from this site;kkmulticopter. They have a lot of frequently asked questions and answers. If you haven't visited this site check it out. There maybe some information that will help you.

  • @08maxout Hi, I've been there a lot! I've also be in contact with Christian Moll. He rewrote the V0.50 firmware so it would work for me. Thanks for the recommendation!

  • Hey, hows it coming along? My shipment for my atmel programmers been lost, great now I have to wait even longer! I see you need something from good old bunnings? I go there like everyday, What was the other dude referring too?

    Happy flying!!

  • @SebMarra Hey, Man, yep, I'm interested in a plastic cross he is using for a quad-build? I think it's used in shelving? He shows it in the build video he's doing right now. Maybe you could check his video out? I asked him to send me a link, but that didn't happen. It's an interesting part, because connecting each beam to the central location is a design problem. The plastic cross he found there may be an excellent solution. You can email me at corlissmedia@gmail.com

  • got the same kit as you, but m boards in + mode, the programmer that came with it will not work to flash it, so I ordered an atmel programmer.

  • @Johnbrum26 Yep, they finally sent me the right board, but the programmer was pure crap. I had already purchased another KK board and a programmer from S.F. Both of which worked perfectly!

  • I've got a KK board and I had to trim my throttle trim down and the yaw trim had to be moved to the right. I did this a click at a time until I was able to arm my KK board. If you do any throttle adjustment or yaw adjustment keep in mind that you may effect the ability to arm. I also fly in arco mode and not heli.

  • @08maxout Morning, what is your TX? Mine is the Flysky FS-TH9X. I know about acro/plane mode, but I can't edit the current/working profile to that mode. When I try to do that, the profile switches from MODE 2 (left hand throttle), to MODE 1 (right hand throttle), and all of the other settings get screwed up. Let me know if you have a solution to that!

  • @MobileMediaProducts

MMP, I've got a Futaba 7cap tx. I'm not familiar with the Flysky tx. Hope you get it going.

  • and i thought that having a ESC randomly burn out was bad :(

Good luck mate with solving this problem. ill be sure to continue watching just incase something like this happens to me!

  • @putatosquared Thanks so much! Anything's possible! I'm looking forwards to watching your new build video. Where'd you get that plastic cross from?

  • @MobileMediaProducts I got it from the local hardware store that i work at, Bunnings Warehouse.

It's used for like bracketing or shelving units, much easier that cutting out aluminium sheet with a hacksaw -.- haha.

  • @putatosquared Cool, I'll see if I can find it online!

  • @putatosquared Can you send me a link to the part? I'm trying to find it here in the states, but I'm striking out because I don't know what to call it. thanks

  • I have a hobbywing esc, just plug one in at a time and get it to go as opposed to all four at once. I highly recommend Kieth and the girl to start or end your day to.

    Good luck mate.

  • @SebMarra Thanks for the recommendation. I will definitely give them a listen. On this end, everything's gone to complete shite. I've tried two expert methods of calibrating my ESC's, both have failed miserable. My transmitter is not behaving either. I'm thinking it has lost it's bind on my RX. What to do, what to do!

  • Sorry you are correct on the motor layout for the v5.5, so all you need to do now is calibrate your esc’s

  • @snoopw111 I wish it were that simple. I tried to calibrate the ESC's on the rig, and the process I was told about failed miserable (or I failed to do it right possibly). At this point, I can't even arm this quad. Hmmmm. What to do, what to do?

  • Motor 1 should be where you have motor 2, motor 2 should be where you have motor 3 and so on, thus motor 4 will be where you have motor 1 and you need to calibrate your esc’s

  • @snoopw111 So your comment kind of threw me for a loop, as they say. But here's the deal: I'm using the KK board (black board), it's flashed to 4.7, and in the KK manual versis 5.5, Motor 1 is top left, Motor 2 is top right, Motor 3 is bottom right, and Motor 4 is bottom left. That config is for x-copter. If I moved all of my motors one to the right, as your post suggest, I would be creating the PLUS or CROSS config in the KK Manual v5.5, which I don't want to fly in. Can you reply to this?

  • On Multiwii i have mine on Plane mode and when i change it to Heli it all goes loony on the GUI. and MWC arent far from KK, Trying Plane mode wont hurt it, or Try Helli on 90 Degree Swash Mode or the X Helli or + Heli(90 Degree)

  • Also its fine to leave the TX in heli mode I'm pretty sure. If your unfamiliar with setting up a tx for helis its hard to explain. The transmitter has a few different options for different heli dwashplates.

From what I understand the transmitter swash setting needs to be "2 servo" setting. I know the quad doesn't have servos lol but your transmitter may not know how to mix the stick outputs for the kk boards interpretation. The kk board needs 2 servo option.

    Once again good luck!! :D!

  • @SebMarra That's really interesting about the KK board needing the 2 servo option to work in HELI mode! I did manage to calibrate one mis-behaving motor finally! Yea!

  • lol I listen to Keith and the Girl which is the only real contact I have with NY, I'm from Perth, Western Australia.

Interesting comment from arie. I think he might have it! It makes sense now that I think about it.

    Good luck!

  • @SebMarra Keith and the Girl, huh, that's a radio program out of new york, right? I'll have to check it out. Yes, I think Arie's comment about changing the TX from heli to plane is worth trying!

  • You need to calibrate the esc trottle range. See your programming manual of your esc. Put the servo lead in the receivers trottle channel one by one to do this....if you have anny questions...ariekraakjr@hotmail.com

  • @ariekraakjr Thanks, I'll email you!

  • @ariekraakjr I finally took one motor/esc off the rig, and used your calibration info (plus some other info), to get it squared away. Now I'm going to calibrate all of the motors individually! Yea!

  • Try two servos, 90 degree swash setting.

Also check the swash mix to make sure the output of your transmitter sticks corresponds to the appropriate movement of the quad and its props.

I do believe the fine tuning is in the TX part. Please let me know how you go!

  • @SebMarra morning, SebMarra, the problem is, I don't have 2 servos?

  • Hey, I can help.

The reason only 1 motor is spinning is because the output setup on your Transmitter is set to 1 servo, that means its setup for a simple helicopter, you need to adjust the swashplate configurations If I'm correct, although I havn't actually set mine up yet I don't know for sure.

You can get a backlight strip from hobbyking for the turnigy 9x transmitter, I ordered 1 for my dx6i.

Also well presented, are you a comedian? Are you from NY

  • @SebMarra Am I a comedian! I wish! Am I from New York! Everyone always thinks that! I love New York! Sadly, I'm from the Pacific Northwest. I've been getting a lot of comments from various places. I think the fundamental problem is, I have the TX set for a HELI, and it should be set for an ACRO/PLANE?
