You may not know this, but they kind of have to be in the building in order to vote, and there were protesters blocking the entrance, so people cleared the path. What this bill ensures is that every American can have access o quality, affordable health care. Private insurers demonized themselves by hiking premiums and saying cancer is a "pre-existing condition". This Health Cre Reform is necessary.

kieran195, you seem very sincere but if the blow hard politicians felt the same way they would have made accomodations for those in need without health insurance without requiring every american and every insurer to buy into their scheme. let honesty be your guide. if a health insurer has to take a new patient who never had insurance until they get cancer, it will break insurance companies, especially if the fine for no insurance is low. most dems have promised this is just a starter plan.

kieran195, another question for any honest observer. if health care is too important for profit, as so many democrats say, why do government contracts usually come in at much higher cost than private industry? when profit is involved business owners stay up into the middle of the night figuring a way to be more efficient and offer better service. otherwise a competitor takes their business. profit lowers prices, bureaucracy and arrogant, clueless, and corrupt politicians raise costs.

kieran195, bush doubled our national debt, obama is scheduled to at least double it again. social security is going bankrupt as is medicare even though it is heavily subsidized by medical providers and private insurers right now, . we are looking at $100 trillion in unfunded mandates before this additional entitlement. if we eliminate many private providers while expanding the burden of government rolls, our impending national bankruptcy becomes even more likely. we are in big trouble already.
