I am very sorry that U were disillusioned; U were naive when U first signed up when U thought U were going to fight for a 'noble' cause; there is nothing noble about killing others, whether they were just or not! I served a decade in the military and I knew when I put on the uniform, I pretty much gave up the choice of whether I would kill the enemies or not- that choice should have been made before I became a soldier.
The military is an extension of our country's foreign policy, as it has been for many other countries around the world, did U not realize that? It might be nice to say that we're fighting for all the right reasons, against terrorism, injustice or some mad dictator who decided to impose his will onto others but deep down, we are also looking after our own country's welfare... the gasoline that goes into our car, all those hi-tec goods that we could not live without, etc.

That is needless, and sad.

No, it isn't. And FYI, cops are not supposed to kill anyone unless they're an immediate threat, and with good reason--it's wrong, even if the guy's a rapist. Saving the people from death by killing the crazy guy is the reward. Stopping a pack of communists who are murdering innocent people and will murder more is the reward. Killing them is not, even if it still needs to be done.

I am very sorry that U were disillusioned; U were naive when U first signed up when U thought U were going to fight for a 'noble' cause; there is nothing noble about killing others, whether they were just or not! I served a decade in the military and I knew when I put on the uniform, I pretty much gave up the choice of whether I would kill the enemies or not- that choice should have been made before I became a soldier.

This war depresses me. I support our troops and all that, but they are pretty much being sent off to die. for the US, This war is nothing more than Bush saying "I hate you". We have no business there. It may be cold of us not to help them, but we originally held no burden, and by getting involved, we risked the well being of the entire US, and judging by the actions of past dictators, we, the common citizenry, may also be in grave danger.

They'll fight for our country, for what they believe in, but I don't think there is a single soldier that wouldn't rather be with their families. I disagree with this war and I won't say that we were justified in going there or anything like that, however I support our troops 110% for being there. For risking their lives for us.
