The reason people give FF7 so much fame is because it was the first truly 3D Final Fantasy.

By all means, the graphics did indeed suck really bad, and the only reason they're "better" than FF6 was because they're 3D.

In that sense, FF6 had more realistic graphics in the colour scheme and whatnot, but FF7 was 3D.

Also, FF7 had awesome cinematics, while FF6 had cutscenes with the characters.

Actually, I had to play Crisis Core to actually understand Advent Children and FF7 combined. Also, FF7 is good; so good in fact that it should be a series in its own without the FF title. All other games are actual Final Fantasy when it comes to concept and gameplay.
