@simoncampbelll Wow! I didn't know of the festival and have just looked it up on the My Space site. This only mentions the 2010 event, though. This is a must for me next time I'm in the British Isles. I always felt Rory would have been a great person to know - which is more than can be said for many rock stars. Apart from his superb musicianship and feel, he evidently had a lot of integrity and courage (e.g. Irish Tour), too. Sadly missed.

Theres a further part to the story: apparently thay advertised on TV in Ireland for the return of his strat. One of the adverts was quite insulting and stated that the fact it was stolen did Rory's neighbour a huge favour. Think thats from the Rory Gallagher web site.

Also bassist Gerry McAvoy has a book called "Riding Rough Shot". His life on the road with RG etc
