im jsut trying to help you out here but, but if your looking to get some reds dont use shrimp and try differnt equipment, get a nice surf spinning set 8-10' rod with a decent reel spooled with a few hundred yards of 30-50lb line with 6-8/0 hooks

did you guys just get stung by a saltwater catfish? saltwater catfish are poisoness and their sting has been known to be faital. they have stingers on the side fins and top dorsal fin. ive been stung a good bit and all have had to be drowned in hot water and cleaned with meat tenderizer. be careful

not the kind of surf fishing we do. 12 to 15 foot poles and some pole holders, mustad size 16/0 deamon circle hooks 1" to 2" size chunks of bait and sit and wait for a big one to take off with your hook. this past season we got 3 reds 40" or better and the about 3 or 4 28" or so. and then a 4 foot shark. now cant wait till this season. plus my dad caught a hugh sting ray..ill send you the pic. its huge.
