AFTER his active career, Schmeichel has turned into an asshole of an addict to media attention. In Danish media he repeatedly makes negative comments about ManUs new Danish keeper, Anders Lindegaard. One can only speculate as to why, but ManU probably had their reasons to get Linnegaard. I am loosing more and more of the respect I used to have for Schmeichel. Thank Goodness his quips are confined to the Danish media. Go Lindegaard!

I cannot give any concrete examples, but after watching him ramble away in the danish champions league show for years, i must agree with cybercormorant, he is an utter asshole and attention whore. But none the less, one of the most impressive keepers in history, he was my footballing idol growing up. My style as a keeper was totally based on his, cost me a few broken ribs and broken noses, but it works. You just have to slam the striker once and he turns into a puss
