That's what is believed, that they are trying to stop the end of the world. But if you watch the series in its entirety and the movie, you will find out the heads of NERV and Seele are not trying to prevent the end of the world, just trying to make it happen in their own way for the rebirth of mankind.

Half way through production, Gainax was having budgetary issues, so they used recycled scenes and animations throughout the series. One of the purposes of Rebuild is to retell the story with superior animations.

I'm pretty fond of the dub (Mostly because the first version I watched was with the English voice actors) But after going back and watching it in Japanese I felt that the voices were too generic? I mean, I don't think they captured the emotion very well because their voices are either very high-pitched or very low-pitched. The only parts where I felt they achieved the emotion the characters were showing was when they were either yelling/screaming or crying.

If you are going to take precious time out of your day to bash something that other people like and you can easily avoid, at least muster the brain power to provide some logical support for your criticisms. Example: I like the Eva dub. I think it is one of the best dubs of all time. I like it BECAUSE the main cast really get into their roles and make the characters their own. I ACKNOWLEDGE that it is rough around the edges, and many people may not like it.

See? That's a civil, balanced opinion.

I completely fail to understand why people take the time to post comments on a video for the sole purpose of complaining about the English dub, or worse, about the fact that it was dubbed at all. Get it into your heads that some people like to watch anime in their native language, and that just because the English voices are not identical to the Japanese does NOT make them bad.

What I also don't understand is that I put another series of videos up, Evangelion Kickass Moments Revision, featuring extra scenes and japanese dub with english subtitles. Yet most of the comments I get on these videos are people complaining about the dub. If you don't like the dub, watch the Revision videos. Btw, I prefer the Jap dub over the english but everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I've seen 1.0 and yes its basically an introduction with nothing much new. However I know 2.0 has drastic changes because I streamed a little bit of it, but I was turned of by the terrible quality. I'm gonna be waiting for high quality so that I can enjoy it :)

Technically cyborgs. The pilot is in an entry plug - a spinal control implant in the back of the neck. There are mechanical implants throughout the body for combat enhancement and power supply - it runs off massive batteries or a feeder cable because it physically can't lift itself otherwise - but the biology is...technically alien, I suppose, since it's from Adam or Lilith-class planet-seeder lifeforms.

When it ate the angel, it absorbed the angel's s2 organ. This allows eva to go on without having to worry about battery power, and i guess help reproduce damaged limbs and etc. So it ate it for a reason :P

I haven't seen much of the series, so, from these videos, I've got the impression the job of the scientists there is to stand around frightened and do absolutely nothing of worth, and that Shinji's EVA is constantly broken, or at the least has a pisspoor reliability of powersource issue. Am I accurate here?

No the scientists monitor what is going on the eva and the pilot, but other than that they do nothing. Ritsuko, however, is the head scientist and a central character. Also, the eva is a lot more complex than just power issues. You really have to watch the entire series to understand and do some online research about the show

berserker is a last ditch stance the eva is a thing that can be switched on and off but in times of desperation to protect its pilot it goes out of control and has to wear its self out and the armor is a like a control device to use it like a giant mech without the armor it might as well be an angel

is the pilot still linked in berserker yes and no the pilot is alive but the eva does it all on its own to protect the pilot the legend says in the s2 is a soul that was very close to the pilot in this case shinjis mom thats why it reactivates and kills the angels to protect the pilot
