  • i love Jackie's voice

  • @ salupaolo - the song is sung by Jackie. of course backed up by the brothers with MJ's strong "MY" near the end of the song! I agree with you...it is a goooood song! I love it! And that was Tito on the lead guitar, he surprised me with that one because he wasn't known as a strong "lead guitarist".

  • @ricm1968 How can you be sure the solo isn't played by Steve Lukather? He was involved with the making of the album and it definitely sounds like his style of playing if you listen to some Toto, Lukather also went on to play in Beat it and Human Nature :D Although wikipedia (of all places) is really not informative about his involvement

  • @ricm1968 @salupaolo That is most definitely STEVE LUKATHER !!! this was a song was written by Jackie with David Paich From Toto.....originally intended for a Toto album before Jackie & Michael decided that it should be part of the album....For the record, Tito has always been a strong lead guitarist. let's not forget that Tito had to duplicate every single last Motown guitar lick for the Jacksons live shows...there is some GREAT footage on You Tube of Tito MURDERING on guitar

  • Back in 2009, I was listening to this song a few days after he died, and when the "any longer" part came on, I just lost it. I couldn't stop crying for an hour.

I really wish I could've met him, but I was born the year the trouble started...(93)

Oh well. He's still my favorite.

  • 3:35 - 3:37 I heard an angel.

  • St. Petersburg, Florida says THANK YOU! What a great song!!! ;-)

  • Jackie sung lead with help from Michael and Jermaine

  • 1:55 - 1:58 is SO COOL!

  • i love this song:)

  • MONTREAL SAYS THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • written by david paich from toto and jackie jackson,a standout cut that also features jeff porcaro, drums, steve lukather guitars, david paich, keyboards and steve porcaro synths and programming! not forgetting longtime toto percussionist the excellent lenny castro just dig those congas! as mentioned already this album overshadowed by the thriller phenomenon that gripped the planet in 84 ' just unbelievable!!

  • @MrTonedeff Incredible... thanks for the info :D i couldn't get over how 'Toto-ish' this song sounds. That explains why.

  • @TheScorpion667 it was always a favourite of mine.when i bought the victory album in 84' i had no idea that toto were on there until i got it home! i just bought it on the strength of the single state of shock ,which i dug! micheal appreciated toto and quincy jones dug them also! they did the dune soundtrack the same year and released isolation my top toto album after toto4 ! lukather and jeff porcaro played on give my regards to broadstreet for mcartney the same year! busy boys the toto dudes!

  • I had the cassette tape of this...loved that album....

  • ALL 6 BROTHERS participated in this track.

  • This song sounds like the band Toto, so bad. It's a great sound!!!!

  • @TheScorpion667 toto produced it :)!!!!

  • Clearly an underrated track.I got this album when I turned 8 years old in 1984 and it sounds better now than it did then.

  • 80's music is deep in my soul!!, deep in my soulll baby!

  • this is better than Hannah Montana

  • @thearrow09 lol well said.

  • @thearrow09 who's that?

  • It is Jackie singing the lead vocals ;) I really love this song! I wish Michael sang more parts of it :)

  • @bigmjfan1 Definitely sounds like Jackie with Michael. Back in the 70's I had Jackie's solo album - somehow lost it which is a shame as it was a superb album but Motown, in their wisdom, made no effort to promote it.

God bless the guys and RIP Mike xx

  • I looked up Jackie Jackson on Wikipedia and it said he got lead vocals in "Wait" with Michael and Jermaine singing ad libs.

  • I love the most!!!

  • I Just Rebought this Cd Opps! I ment Record ;-D

  • r u sure this is jermaine?

    sounds like jackie :)

  • @fluffypillow916 that's cuz it is Jackie sing the song :)

  • man this is the best song on the album besides your ways :DD

  • @fluffypillow916

"Your Ways" is from the Triumph album :)

  • YEAH JACKIE THATS WHAT I THOUGHT, YOU'D BETTER LET MJ IN YOUR SONG LOL

  • @Yellow4494 i know mj is better that any of them, but actuelly this sounds good, also with out michael.

  • @themythriller yeah, it is good with just Jackie. But MJ did help it out, the small part that he has is fantastic. Either way I love this song

  • Man, I love the Jackson 5 and the Jackson bro's but its a good thing MJ branched out and left otherwise they'd all probably be singing the same oldies now

  • So The Jacksons were all 6 of them?

  • @Yellow4494 Well Jermaine wasn't in it he stayed with Motown so Randy joined permanently. But sometimes he was there.

  • Description is wrong. Song is actually sung by Jackie. 3:35 is my favorite part :D

  • I'm sure someone has said this already but it's actually Jackie on the lead vocals. Jermaine and Michael sing the ad libs etc at the end.

  • lead vocal: jackie jackson not jermaine

  • this sucks!i was born in 1996 and i am gonna b 14 this year.We don't get to hear good music now and days i wish i was born in the 80's or 70's because thats were you can hear music with True feelings not everything was about S.E.X..Music was good!

  • @3TCinda96

Nice to hear that from younger population ! :) And yes... we enjoyed that time in excellent music. :)

  • @ZLO11 LOL thank u soo much.. extremly lucky music today doesnt tell much meaning...But lucky on November We will hear MJ's new album

  • @3TCinda96 I knew very few from this generation would be wise & smart...you're one of them!!! Don't change!!! ;-)

  • drum jeff porcaro

  • @faithhopelove868 Another great musician gone to heaven. Rest his soul.

  • oh my god;; i only turned 12 two days ago and i LOVE the 80's music! haha i wish i was born in the early 70's to see the jackson 5 (the jacksons) and Michael Jacksons sucess

  • @MJsAngel19581998 YOU ROCK!!! ;-)

  • If Micheal sings lead on this song its a number 1 smash. Jackie sounds great and its still a very good song, but If Mike sings lead on this it would have been one of their biggest hits ever.

  • @jermaine550 I like Dis but I would Love to see what Micheal would have sounded like on lead....Woooooo I Can Just Imagine now.....

  • Wished Michael had came into the song earlier!

  • @blackmannow I know what you mean, but this album was meant to showcase all the Jacksons talent, so it wouldn't have been fair to have Michael all over every track. This is my favourite track on Victory, and I like the way it has just a hint of Michael on it, it definitely adds to it. Sometimes less is more.

  • @salupaolo Actually it's Jackie singing this, not Jermaine. For sure though, Michael is at the end.

  • @synclair0718 Yes Jackie is singing lead. However Michael and Jermaine starts trading ad libs in the end. Michael starts at 4.05 and then Jermaine 4.09 and then they take turns.

  • @gabbefuchs I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE WHEN THEY DO THAT !!!! that's the family magic connection

  • Más que el video es la canción en sí

  • The lesser known Jacksons on the left and the most famous ones (obviously Michael) on the right.

  • @JML101582 well they all are famous..in other groups, you won't even know the name of no one BUT the lead singer....with new edition, the temptations & the jacksons, that aint the case cause no matter who sang lead..EVERYONE PLAYED A PART IN THE GROUP ! if you wanna get techinical, Jermaine had the hardest job...playing BASS, singing, harmonizing and dancing is nooooooooo joke !!

  • @lawplanet12 Correct! First of all it is much harder to play the bass and sing compared to play the guitar and sing because the bass maintains the rythm together with the drummer. Second of all don't forget that the type of basslines Jermaine had to play were not simple Paul McCartney style of playing. Jermaine had to duplicate often tricky and funky basslines in the style of legends like James Jamerson and N. Watts. Try singing over those funky grooves like Jermaine did.

  • @MichaelJackson4ev806 From left to right: Marlon, Jackie, Randy, Michael, Jermaine, Tito

  • go jackiee

  • Amazing song !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Salupaolo, this is Jackies song! Mi9chael and Jermaine don't enter the son until the near end. Jackie wrote, produced, lead, and composed this song. Just thought I'd let you know, Thanx 4 posting!

  • Buenisimo, me hace acordar a mi juventud.

    Grande Michael...

  • @ salupaolo I had to correct you B/C IN YOUR DESCRIPTION YOU WROTE JERMAINE AND MICHAEL SUNG THIS SONG. SINGING LEAD ON THIS SONG IS JACKIE NOT Jermaine. • lol this almost sounds like the ducktales song

  • I think parts of it sound like the 21 Jumpstreet theme.

  • What are u guys meaning? That MJ is singing this song? I Cant hear MJ :s :S:S how?

  • mikes hes in the background and screams.

  • mike is heareable mainle in the end of the song.

  • 3:36 - Michael's scream in that piece of the song is awesome

  • Michael was very neglected when he was small, he played Banjos, in the begining, thts how he got all the beats, voice hiccups styles. His mum, pressed Joe to hear MJ sing... Ths how it all began, he raved through, his dedication to win his fathers attention, proove tht he was something special. oh yeah! he was very very extra ordinary special.

  • @kezka76 i don't think so. that's what the tv movie showed. he gave a different story in his book moonwalker

  • wow- this song gets better every time!! HURRAH!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • "Why is it no one can watch a video of one of the other Jackson's with out bringing up Michael"

i just saw someone else say this on another video and i notice it too. i guess it's because Mj passed recently and he's on ppl's minds....but at the same time it is nerve racking after seeing it so much...as if the other jacksons didn't have any talent and were just 'there'...i feel u

  • I wonder if he had never changed his looks, and made himself look white if any of you wold even had noticed him

this is not going to be a popular comment and i dont care...but i was wondering the same thing today...i was wondering if he hadn't changed his looks would he be as popular...particularly here in the US....looks have a lot to do with popularity...its sad. i like him no matter what he looked like, but everyone is not like that

  • @claraj1968 did u read his autopsy report. he didn't turm him self white. i respect ur opinion but i'm sure if he did turm himself white thats the first thing that would have been reported

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah, you know it all. Since you do, where did I leave my keys?

  • this is the shiiiiit ahhhhhhh

  • And then enters Michael:--"My priiiiiiiide!" this always gave me goosebumps. Yes it's something about when Michael enters the song. "Any longer"... I'm down on my knees baby...break down on my knees baby...can't help my soul...I can't help my soul baby... "Can't wait, I can't wait". Ad lib out. Michael possessed this magical and otherworldly persona about him, just like in his photo on the LP cover. Man, I miss him so much.

  • Yes, he really does divide the song in half, right at the point he comes in there. In addition, I too, find it interesting, how his feet and gloved hand are illuminated-representing power, even though he is as far back as possible in the cover. Very telling.

  • I agree he like hyped the song up yo I love this album first heard it when I was 5 years of age. back in 88

  • @nakedeyez I AGREE WITH YOU. MICHAEL'S ADLIBS ON THIS SONG MADE THIS SONG SO MAGICAL. SO WONDERFUL. SO BEAUTIFUL. I MISS HIM SO MUCH TOO. I LOVED HIM EVER SINCE MY MOTHER BROUGHT HOME THE OFF THE WALL ALBUM(VINYL). WE PLAYED OFF THE WALL ALBUM ALL NIGHT!! I STILL HAVE THAT ALBUM FROM WAYYYY BACK. ----I CAN'T HOLD BACK MY TEARS ANY LONGER FOR YOU MICHAEL! RIP MICHAEL JOSEPH JACKSON. SLEEP IN HEAVENLY PEACE!!

  • @nakedeyez I got this album 3 years ago. And I too still get that vibration up down my spine when I hear "My priiiiide!" Wooo! I love them so so much!

  • @nakedeyez whoa! i thought i was the only one that got startled when he came out of no where and yelled that. haha! freal, gives me goosebumps, chills, everything. "MY PRIDE!" his voice is just too beautiful(:

  • @nakedeyez LP cover?

  • @nakedeyez Thats exactly what happens when I hear that "myyyyy priiiideee" bit. thought it was just me!

  • Awesome but sort of reminds me of that Beverly Hills Cop movie...lol

  • Michael i love you so much ♥

  • I like this song. :))

  • this song is dope but it has a 80s b movie soundtrack opening credits kinda feel Toto was dope David Paich, Steve Porcaro, Jeff Porcaro etc they did a lot production on this CD

  • This is Jackie singing. He also wrote it (I just looked at the paper that came with the cd). I knew it wasn't Jermaine.

  • I love 80s!!!!

  • I used to wear this song out LP, cassette, etc... I just love when Mike comes in and rips the track!!!

  • I see Tito and MJ with the glowing hand. I can't tell who is Jermaine or Randy or Jackie or Marlon. Because Randy and Jermaine look alike. Jackie and Marlon is hard to find like Waldo.

  • From left to right: Marlon, Jackie, Randy, Michael, Jermaine, Tito.

  • its hard to tell who's who in this picture

  • thank you Jacksons, I love This Song!!! Love u Guys!!

  • so 80sh...i love it!! wish i was around in those good ol days..

  • y a thumbs down? aaan\nyways...this is like the best album cover ever..

  • I like how the jacksons look like in Victory album.

  • Me too. I also love MJ's sparkly shoes and gloves.

    RIP Michael

  • This song is Jacksons + TOTO!(my two favorite groups)

Written by D. Paich & Jackie Jackson

    Guest Musician - D. Paich, S. Porcaro, J. Porcaro & S. Lukether

    And I like Jackie's Voice.

  • this is another awesome song. Even though Jackie is singing this song. .. i just love the part near the end when you clearly hear Michael in that overexcited voice when he pipes in

  • hai...angle where ever u are...I can't wait to see U in heaven...

  • another great song from the massive Jackson Family music archive...

  • Each brother wrote a song and sang it, with background help from the other brothers, read the credits from the album. I guess Michael did not want to do all the songs like the old format. Or maybe they all wanted to shine.

  • GO JACKIE!!!!!!!! LOVE THIS SONG

  • Correction, Its Jackie singing on this.

  • Jermaine started the song. He's a good singer too

  • Victory (1984) was a great record, but I thought Triumph (1980) was better. We had every Jackson 5?Jacksons record!

  • Man! I was born in '93 so I'm about to be 16 but man!!!! The 70s and the 80s were THE GREATEST!! I WISH I WAS BORN BACK THEN! I love all the jackson's stuff!!

  • @KeedaBoo93 lol ikr? i was born in '97 so ill be 13 next month lol im obbsessed wit mj and all his songs including the j5!!

  • @KeedaBoo93

was born in 75 and remember having that LP ,so am I lucky ?

  • @KeedaBoo93 girl aint that the truth!? lol i love the jacksons & mj

  • @KeedaBoo93 The 70's and 80's were the greatest, believe me, you missed a lot.

  • @KeedaBoo93 i was there in the 80s the GREATEST time

  • Go Jakie lol...nice catchy very 80's style song. Victory was a pretty good album, but I really like Destiny & Triumph better. I just like the disco-y jazzier sound a little better.

  • Come be a silly observation, and looking more to cover the disc, Michael is the only one that literally shines ...

This light, the brightness had to be him, no use ....

    It is the best!

  • Como he bailado este tema!!!

Me encantaban los Jakson... por supuesto Michael primero.

    RIP from Argentina

  • Oldest brother Jackie is the lead singer here...very underrated singer!!

  • This sounds like the Pointer Sisters....Neutron Dance....You Tube it and compare....at least the melody goes there....I like this song though. This was the funkiest Jackson CD without much of Michael...He was missed in the videos though.

  • LOL i was thinking the same thing about the Pointer Sisters!!

  • Out of everyone, I just want to say honestly, Michael stands out the most. lmfao.

  • they made him stand out in this one

  • Sing it Jackie! Sounds great leading in this.

  • I've always loved this song, since I was a little girl in the early 90s. I love the victory album!

  • See they were always ahead of there time, so in early 80s when they wrote this, they were already in 80s overdrive peak.

  • Too 80s..nice but too cheesy pop..Michael's really moved on beyond the norm of the times during that era!

  • I CANT WAIT!! this is sooo good!!

  • wow, some of the most memorable times comes back to mind!

Long live the Jacksons and hail to the king of pop, MJ! R.i.p. You shall never be forgotten!

  • wow great harmonies here,i agree that the song gets much better as you keep listening...

  • I have it on vinyl too. I need all this stuff on CD.

  • man this brings back memories.

  • Haha who told Jackie he can sing??Lol

  • It's Jackie on lead vocals. I still have my vinyl copy. It's also Jackie on Wondering Who from the 'Triumph' album. The Jacksons. There'll never be another like them.

  • This song has me grinning from ear to ear as I remember playing this album over and over and over in the 80s when I was growing up. LOL! Thanks for posting it. Rest in Peace, beloved Michael.

  • I have to get Triumph and Victory ASAP!!

  • Marvelous....

01: Torture 02: Wait 03: One More Chance 04: Be Not Always 05: State Of Shock 06: We Can Change The World 07: The Hurt 08: Body

  • @cicalone70 YEAH STATE OF SHOCK AND WAIT ARE AWESOME

  • damn i forgot about this song....we had this whole tape..wore it out..i was just a kid though..

  • Ahh the classic 80s sound. Makes me think of Miami Vice.

  • This is Jackie Jackson on vocals, not Michael or Jermaine.

  • OK folks. I just checked the Wiki page for Jackie. It credits him with lead vocals on this tune and "Wondering Who." It says he stopped the falsetto singing in the later stages of his career, and this sound represents his natural voice.

  • Hey Temptsfan2....

My Mistake. His name is Marlon. Not Jackie.

  • You just might be correct. I've attributed this song to Jackie since 1984, but as I listen again, it does sound a little low for him. Marlon's voice is likely half way between Jermaine's and Jackie's. I listened to "Wondering Who" yesterday, and that is Jackie for sure. Any other opinions on this one?

  • I think wonderin' who is marlon .

  • Wiki credits Jackie with "Wonderin Who" also. It all sounds good. I hate Michael had to die for all of us to get re-acquainted with their music, but it has been great listening to the old songs again.

  • yep, I am suspecting that MJ is not the only Jackson that will get a surge of sales over all of this. People are likely to revisit all of the Jacksons starting with MJ on to the other brothers & sisters and probably even LaToya's um stuff...

  • EXCELENT SONG.. i LOVE u Michael!!

    <3<3<3

  • wait for a hundred years

  • I actually think this is Jackie on lead vocals. Jermaine's voice is a little deeper (a second tenor, vs. first tenor/falsetto for Jackie)
