Well done tinny that would be perfect for baking or simmering for long periods of time like when you're cooking rice and it eliminates the problem or the cool fly over heating!!!
Have you thought about making the cool fly even smaller because you don't need to store alcohol within the stove itself???
I don't understand the need for a remote fed stove. If you need more fuel, why not just make the stove itself larger? This just complicates the system and forces you to carry more gear.
he made it like that so the burner doesnt over heat due to the alcohol being replaced when the old alcohol is burned. its like a better coool fly you need no water jacket to keep the stove warm. and like a choke hazard.
This is far more complicated than just fuel volume. This stove does not boil fuel so you can't have it in direct contact with the flame or the heat inside the windscreen or it will get hot and vent---not good---so i put the fuel tank outside to keep it cool. The whole thing will fit in the palm of your hand when packed up and because it is so efficient it will save a lot of fuel.
Another Idea! You know the Red fuel bottles by MSR? Couldn't you figure a way to put your own leakproof cap on one of them and then a fella could lay the fuel bottle on it's side. Maybe raised a little and it would do the same thing? Just an idea. Let me know what you think!
Great Idea Tinny, but I kinda agree with "enjoying28".....Why not have a four or eight ounce fuel type bottle and then if you had any leftover fuel it would be right where it belonged? No chance of spilling, etc. etc. Let me know if you come up with something. I am very much interested either way. Keep up the good work!
I see your idea and think it is a good one but. this is an ultralite stove so any big aluminum bottles are out and I just don't feel safe doing it with a 4 oz plastic bottle plus the fuel is very easy to pour back in the bottle and with the cover in place it is safe, as well as having a nice carry case for the stove and wet wicks
I am guessing that the windscreen is a must then, so the heat does not move to the fuel container, also I do not see a water jacket, the fuel feeding the stove must keep it cool enough not to need one? Am I right? I really like this design. Is this an upcoming item for sale? I hope.
Because there is no fuel in the stove other than what little is in the wick, it doesn't matter if it gets hot. The windscreen is always a must on any alcohol stove.
Sorry I think I should have been a bit more clear, The windscreen.. is it like a barrier between the stove and the fuel container so the fuel does not heat up was my question.
I think it would be ok without the screen because it is far enough away and is fairly big but because it needs a windscreen anyway i have not really given this a good test
is this going to b in the store

Gasoline is just the wrong stuff and very smutty and uncontrolable

Great videos you put up. With your alcohol stove, is it ok to use unleaded fuel? If not, is there a reason why you can't? Thanks for great videos.
