There's really no way to play this at speed with all downstrokes. I believe it's actually the fourth note that you're talking about, but ya, it's an upstroke.

You just need a bit of natural overdrive, nothing else - don't go for too much gain, either a valve amp, or tubedriver type pedal should do it for you, cheers....
