    Great job though!

  • thank you

  • This is so great; I'm looking forward to watching the others you have posted!

  • Hey can you post a video of how to play the verse? I have the intro down, but I am struggling with the verse. Maybe because it sounds like 2 guitars going, but I can't tell. I keep listening to it, but I can't match it up.

  • it would be nice if you spoke a little its a little fast on your cam for newcomers

  • Fuck man you're good!! I'm still mastering the triangle!

  • This riff and Back in Black I always sound off tempo. There is a chick in between the bend. I finally get it. Thanks for the help.

  • that was nice ! my biggest pet peeve is trying to learn a riff from tabs are are just a little off and it sounds close but not just right ! that was done great. joe walsh rules

  • thats bloody awesome!

  • Good job, thanks for posting.

  • Thanks a bunch man for posting this. I have my own lesson that I added around three months ago, it's about 3 mins long. This video takes all of mine and puts it into 30 secs!!! And you don't even talk!!! I was wondering if you taught guitar, because you should. Keep it up!!! And YouTube, if you want more classic rock lessons and such, check out my channel!!!

  • Thanks... You've been loading up a lot of lessons I see, great work - keep it up.

  • @mguitarman100 no u dont. i couldnt find it

  • I checked out your web site. . very nice job. You really channel early Clapton nicely. . not many people do.

  • Thanks - glad you like the site. Cheers....

  • @classicrockriffs - awseome thanks for all the lessons...my maserati does 185 - what does yours do? lol !

  • wrong song dude.lol

  • He'll yeah that's lifes been good, I must have been drunk !!!

  • Why aren't all the lessons on youtube riffs this short? Why do i usually have to sit through a 10 minute video to get what i just saw in one? Thanks for keepin it short and sweet man! Rock On

  • Thanks, I get comments both ways, some actually wanting me to talk all over them - the majority like short and sweet though, as do I.

  • @classicrockriffs this is so much clearer than other tutorials :) thanks dude!

  • Great tone. You nailed it.

  • Thank you very much for that quick and concise lesson. Yours is the absolute perfect teaching method; I got it in just a few tries.

    Thanks again

  • fuck!! great lesson man but i still cant get it (mi shit on guitar anyway)

  • Keep at it - you'll get it, cheers.

  • Thanks man. I've been listening to that song for over 30 years but have never played it in a band. Now, I think I can pull it off.

    You do a good job!

  • @Bbendfender excellent - it's a fun one to play live, cheers...

  • nice

  • The right hand would be helpful - is the third note (the A) a back pick or is all the picking downstrokes? Thanks, whoever answers!

  • There's really no way to play this at speed with all downstrokes. I believe it's actually the fourth note that you're talking about, but ya, it's an upstroke.

  • Whoa! Talk about a coincidence! I haven't played that riff for a month, since I posted that question - and this morning, I got out of bed, picked up the guitar and found myself feeling around for a minute until I was playing the "Life in the Fast Lane" opening lick. I got a cup of coffee, checked my email and there was your response to my picking question.

Seriously, strange! Anyway....Thanks! Take it easy....

  • whooohhh i like the tone!!

  • you have a marshal amp dont you?i saw it in the sweet child o' mine lesson.

  • really good tone..thanks !!

  • really good sound. what kind of guitar u using, and what amp settings?

  • ma che effetto usa per la chitarra?

  • Bloody hell man...... That tone, perfect, and I've watched all your vids and now I realize that I really need to work on some things.....

  • do still have the tabs for the whole song?

  • what gibson do you have??

    thanks

  • Y is this so hard

  • because he makes it look so easy

  • how do u learn all these oh duh guitar tabs

  • Thanks, you've got some great vids.

I play it just like this but I can never get the same tone. It always sounds kind of fat and not as strong.

Are there any effects you recommend for getting a better tone?

  • You just need a bit of natural overdrive, nothing else - don't go for too much gain, either a valve amp, or tubedriver type pedal should do it for you, cheers....

  • Cool, I think I got it now.

    Thanks a lot.

    Rock on!

  • this is the best kind of lesson

just straightforward playing thats easy to analyze

  • Good shit.

  • damn straight

  • thanks for the lesson!!!!!!

  • thanks man!!!!!!!

  • fricken awesome man but pick up the riff listen 2 the master track

  • Thanks for your approach and accuracy.

  • Fantastic video, I've being trying to crack this for a long time, now I'm off to practise, thank you very much.

  • totally awesome. couldnt getit with tabs but with this i got it in 2 tries!

  • awesome lesson man! thanks!

  • dude your tone is so kick ass man...whats your set up here?

  • hey buddy it'll be a killer if you make a lesson of the entire song.. im having trouble with joe walsh's parts..

  • very good indeed; but tbh i cant really tell what notes u are playing :\ ive got most of it but, :|

  • Can anybody tab that?

  • The slow version in the second half shows exactly how it's played - doesn't need tab to learn it, just play what you see.

    Good luck,

    Cheers

  • thanks for this, great some people can be decent and help others.

  • Thanks, this helped a lot

  • yo - excellent public service, man! stuff like this is why we all bought computers! and the porn, i guess... 8oP

  • OMG! That was amazing dude!

  • yeah buddy

  • That guitar sounds really good.

  • YOU ARE AMAZING! Everything you played sounds like the real thing! 5/5

  • wow that is great stuff!

  • Best I've seen it played by anyone other than Joe Walsh, dead on tempo and tone! Well Done!

    Phil
