I liked them all, but this song is really different from U2's 'glory days' (1986-1992) as I see them. I can understand how one could construe this song as complete crap.

I totally agree on your "glory days" reference. They've grown a lot as artists and people, and the change of sound comes with time, listeners and age, but I think they're missing that old bang. They've got that "we're older rockers now, and we have causes" which is great, but I seriously miss the likes of "Sunday, Bloody Sunday."

This song is very similar to cuts from their 2004 album 'How to dismantle an atomic bomb" listen to the opening track from that album, it has striking similarities. So, I am sad to say, that this shouldn't even be called 'experimental' this song is just more of the same U2 since their last album, love it or hate it.

I do not see anything wrong with 'boots.' So, this song might not be similar to their other works, but it doesn't mean we should trash it. Half of the comments on this video are about how awful the song and album is. U2 is no doubt an amazing band, and BONO is a very influential person. Sexy boots might be a little weird, but atleast they aren't cranking out the same pop crap like Britney or Lil Wayne. We need more bands like U2 and coldplay.
