@EYEOFASERPENT I don't know. I'm not positive I saw a train but pretty sure....Maybe an old Gordite will tell us! Also, my dad use to go out to the hills around the big "A" with a friend, They would find Indian baskets. I remember lots of pottery shards laying here and there.
In c. 1960 we drove thru there and everyone honked there horns. It felt like forever.. And the apple orchard before Cloudcroft, near the train trestle I swear I saw a train on it in c. 1960. maybe not.... It was legal to have a motorcycle at 12 and I really wanted a Honda 150 Dream or a Cushman Eagle....(hope they changed that law....)
Wow my family did the same thing around the same time as this starting from alamogordo through cloudcroft and then going to lincoln county my dad was stationed at holloman afb at the time ty for the wonderful memories
im amazed that no mining company aint in there mining all that white sands .
