watching this and reading other peoples' comments makes me feel lucky that i have 2 sisters close to my age (2 and 3 years younger than I). I don't know what I would do if I didn't have any siblings close to my age (or any siblings at all!). my life would have been empty and boring when I was little.

When he was strung out on drugs, when he ran away with James, when he ran after stealing that lamp, when he ran away with Silvia who got raped and in this episode. LOL

Man, this is a great episode that touches one's emotion to hear Laura wanting Albert to accept the award, and it was great to see brother and sister hugging at the end. That was a touching scene for Albert walking to Laura and Laura hugging him, and Charles proudly saying that's his family. I always miss the whole thing though, but glad somebody posted this good episode!

I can't bear it when Albert cries, whenever he does it sets me off, and I don't cry easily! It doesn't matter if he's a little tyke like in this episode, or a grown young adult like he is in the morphine episodes, as soon as he tears up I start sobbing too!

Nellie's character caused so much pain in their family that they almost split apart because of it...of the many terrible things said and done by the Nellie character...this is the worst or one of the worst, causing so much pain and division that a family almost splits because of it.

my brother thought these episodes were tear jerker's..maybe he's right...here I go again with tears..maybe that's ok, I don't know..is it wasted emotion what I feel and crying over some of these episodes while I watch them alone here on my computer..tv, no matter how well done, or how well the stories told, doesn't substitute for real living and real feeling with real people one can interact with and have real relationships with..I've spent a lot of time in front of a screen, instead of life.

I love this episode. It shows us a little look in the heart of the troubled child Albert was. In need of love on one side and afraid of rejection on the other. And despite that, he still understands Laura`s feelings. Nice.

I really love the scene were Pa chases Albert and gets him and Albert says 'Let me go! Let me go! You got no right!" And pa says: 'Oh, yes I do and we're gonna have a talk!' It is kinda sweet and you can see how much Pa cares about Albert! I like it.
