@akaeldin Hi there, yes, the client was using hand loads, the 180 grain VLD and 70.5gr H1000 for a velocity of 2925fps. This rifle had somewhat loose tolerances and so I would advise starting a few grains below 70.5. The client has sinced changed to the Hornady 162 grain A-Max. Please refer to the Terminal Ballistics Research website for more info.
At first I thought the shot was a bit off coz the pig bolted with plenty of gusto, but it was more than clear it was perfect placement. Right through the shoulder.
@banjorogers Hi, yes it did but it wasn't the fault of the cartridge, it was the projectile. Please visit the terminal ballistics Research website, go to the knowledge base, then the wound data base and look at the 7mm pics. These have the explanation you are looking for regarding this particular pig. From there, feel free to email me any time. Cheers, Nathan.
@banjorogers We shoot 7mm Rem Mags with a variety of loads. It's a good, flat shooter that outperforms .30-06 Springfield up to 200Gr, but it does kick hard. Long crowned bull barrels are recommended. Tuned and set up properly, it can reach out to 1,000 yds with accuracy. 175gr HPBT MatchKings by Sierra are suggested, using a medium load of powder designed for Midwestern game. Update your loading tables and keep them up to date! Don't mix or match loads or it will get ugly.
Awsome shot!!, i have had people tell me to stay away from berger VLD bullets. But i think they are very deadly on game animals. I use the 95 gr. VLD in .243 win, and i am inpressed how the work on whitetail deer. Gotta love the 7 mag.
@importsstillsuck Hi, if you go to the Terminal Ballistics Research website, you can find more information regarding the performance of the VLD. Hope that helps. Cheers.

@SavageHmr No Hold over, the scope was dialed in. I never use hold over on small targets (small vital areas) and urge clients to do the same. The Sightron this client used was very good regarding elevation adjustments- true to MOA and repeatable. Cheers.
@THESICCKMan1234. Range was 764 yards. Was a cool morning, lots of mist which is why the vid starts out hazy, ice on the ground, was very cold everywhere. Wind drift was a very basic 3 o clock right to left cross wind, approximately 5mph.
just a few questions what type of bullet you use , do you reload your own. thanks.

That's some ridiculously good shooting. Very excellent job. 764 yds in the heart is incredible, and unbelievable, on that size target.
So are/were you a marksman for some sort of military outfit, or are you just an avid shooter who devotes your time to it?
