@GreenGestalt The maximum cartridge size is 4Mbytes. A 3:40 long video would be 13200 frames, leaving only a precious 317 bytes/frame. The entire Gameboy screen is 5760 bytes. Of course, this is a shadow art video that makes heavy use of contrast, so we can save a bunch of space by being very selective in what tiles we update, and making use of run-length encoding compression to save space further. The question is then how to uncompress a frame and get it on the screen fast enough...

@Joltjolteon - Well, somewhat, but that's not important. I have knowlengde of the soundsystem and I can verify that the sound is channeled through 4 channels ( 4-bit ) and I believe that the the audio was the main emphasis in this video and that is were I based my claim.

PS: The song might actually be 8-bit, but claiming that it's a gameboy version then is incorrect.
