My guinea pig learned how to open his cage aswell. But not by my doing! He just discovered if he bites it and puts his paws on it, it'll open. So I had to buy him a new cage with spring doors. |D Hes opened them twice!

Those doors have locks on them(the latch hooks on to the bar above it). The owner probably left it unlatched like that so the Guinea Pig could do this.

we always left his cage open when we went to the fridge each night to get him a stringbean. after a few months he decided to follow us. Then he eventually learned how to open the cage on his own.
