I have used Natural Instincts before and while the colour turns out nice and hair looks very glossy immediately after the first application and hair wash, the product does dry out and damage hair in my experience.
Unfortunately, there is no chemical hair dye that doesn't damage hair. If you want healthy glossy hair then it's best to leave hair untouched by hair dyes, heat and chemical straightening.
If I have very dark brown hair witha few grays will this cover the grays and does this color look dark brown or just plain black. I just don't want to look like I have that fake dyed black hair look...Thanks!
Thank you for making this video! Seriously I love natural instincts cause I never want anything permanent and they are so easy and you just know you dont need to commit yourself to that color. btw your BEAUTIFUL :)
i got this product and im 13 i really want to lighten my hair but im scared what it will do my mom also says i shouldnt trust this color can you please help me and inbox me that will help a bunch!! thank you
this is the BEST semi permanent dye ive used ! its not damaging. its almost reverse-damaging if that makes sense. and the "once a week color treat" that comes with it is AMAZING. and OBVIOUSLY it fades. its semi-permanent. if its your FIRST TIME DYING YOUR HAIR, I SAY TRY THIS.
Does your hair return to it's natural color once the hair dye is washed out? Does it look just like it did before you dyed it, or is it altered somehow? I bought this same color about 3 weeks ago, but have been so aprehensive about actually using it for fear that my hair wouldn't look "normal' once the dye is wased out.
been using this for 3 years. Warning: darker colors lasts wayy >28 shampoos, but it works well. On AA hair, apply to DRY hair, and leave on only 10 minutes after whole head is colored (work quickly) or u risk breakage. I learned this lesson from my first experience. Ever since, my hair has been thicker and healthier. Ohh, also, it does not lighten hair, AND, ur advised not to use a permanent on top, soooo if u want highlights or lowlights, do NOT use this or its rec u wait til grows ou
you're gorgeous! I also do makeup but I was watching your other videos and you're my fave youtube-tutorials girl (there's many out there!) because i can always learn new tips and u clearly have a passion for this! are you canadian or american?
oh yea, how come some of your other videos dont allow commentary?
Wow your hair is sooo pretty!! ^,^ I used the Clairol Natural Instincts Light Ash Brown Color and I really didn't see much of a difference :( My hair is Very dark brown...so maybe I needed to let it sit in my hair longer than 10 minutes...what do you think? :)
that is demi permanent which is basically the same as permanent hair color (which lifts and deposits), just with a low volume developer and ammonia and just adds color
hi... um... well my natural hair color is black but um... i dyed it light brown and my gurl wants me to bring it back to black but will this product work and bring it back or will it just be a different black.
metalic salts are much harsher on your hair than color used in a salon. i don't recommend using at home color if you're worried about your hair's integrity.
what lipcolor are you wearing? you're gorgeous ! Im an ex hair dying addict.. and now my hair is growing out and its like dirty blonde and the rest of my head is like blondeish red its really...eehh. But i bought the light brown and im going to use it todAY! ahh excited :) your color looks so good on you
I tried this and i absoloutley LOVE it! It seriously felt like it did no damage to my hair what so ever. It made it really soft and super shiny! I really liked it :))
Only temporary hair dye (stain only) could let you retain your natural hair color. Natural instincts is Level 2 hair color, demi-permanent hair color (while Level 3 is permanent hair color) -- which chemical power is still strong enough to alter your natural hair color.
Awesome tutorial, the color does suit you ( I suscribed after watching your megan fox one, also good) I have used the same color a few times now and really love it. I bought the midnight but apparently it does not wash out (according to the people at the clairol hotline) so I think I will stick with this shade. It is really easy to apply and I find it stays well on my hair (naturally medium/dark auburn) but does wash out completly in about 6 weeks, so its low comitment.
I used the same exact color from Nat. Instincts and at first it was really pretty dark brown, close to black just like your final color... but now its just a BORING brown. faded =[
but I love it on you and hope the color stays for u! youre gorgeous
I used the Natural Instincts Midnight black, and I hate it so much, I look goth or evil haha. I'm wondering if there is any way to make it go away even quicker, but I like your color very nice.
heck yes buy some hair color remover it should be in the isle where you got the hair die but its tricky to find just keep looking or at sallys the color zap i love it cuz i like trying different hair colors and that stuff removed it good
one of my favorite brands. i wish it wouldnt fade tho. i luv how shiny it makes hair. neways i love the darker color on you better than the lighter! i love dark hair, its exotic. you look BEAUTIFUL! <3
My hair is naturally jet black and I wanna go to an copper/auburnish color. My only concern is that red is a very hard color to get rid of and I'm scared that if I try to dye my hair to a darker color---say a med/dark brown or back to my natural black---in the future that after a few washes the red will begin to peak back through the blk/brown & look like a cheap dye job. Do U know how to cancel out red if you're trying to go darker or 2 another color in general that's not in the red family?
I LOVE the ebony/mocha color. Most of the NI colors wash out within a couple of washes on me. But the ebony/mocha (brown /black) stayed in nearly an entire month without needing re-touching. I was really impressed. With each wash my hair stayed a shiny dark color while lighter brown colors came out. I got so many comments on the color! Your hair turned out gorgeous.
oh wow love the color!! thnk God I came across your video while searching for best hair color.... I was so confused about which color to choose.. thnks so much for your tips@!!
I'm not sure which color the suede is, my best advice would be to try to match the color of the side swatch on the box as best as you can to your hair. hope that helps! <3
I've used a whole bunch honestly! I used to work at a salon so the hairstylists there would pick out the color for me! Sorry I can't be more specific. The only thing I can say is that I always use a semi-permanent color because it is healthier for your hair.
Thank you! I don't think the color necessarily made it straighter, but the conditioner definitely did(as most conditioners do because they weigh down the hair). I mean, my hair is pretty straight anyways, and I really wouldn't worry about it straightening out your perm, especially because it's only semi-permanent color.
Also, the color is really great and has stayed a beautiful color for a long time after using this product. The color will definitely be vibrant until and after your prom!
aww thanks! I think the secret is the color was not too much darker than the color I already had, so it's easier. Seriously though it's really really easy I'm sure you could do it ! : )
Thank you! ; ), and it's not supposed to damage your hair as badly, but it may not lift the color as much as permanent hair color would. check out: makeupalley. com /product/showreview.asp/ItemID=20198/Natural_Instincts_Hair_Color/Clairol/Hair_Color
for some reviews(you'll have to take the spaces out), hope this helped!
thank you! i'm naturally a light brunette with some blonde natural highlights. I just started coloring my hair about 2 years ago, do you color your hair?
I am naturally a dirty blonde but recently I colored my hair a dark chocolate brown with red in it. I was going for something similar to your color but instead chose more a a reddish brown. I was curious to know your natural color because you have the same skin tone and eye color I do
Thanks for the comment! I'm thinking about trying this Clariol Natural Instincts in the 38 blackberry burgundy black! I'm super nervous though because I have a natural strawberry blonde hair and I don't want to ruin my color. My family would kill me and my boyfriend would die! OMG! please help me! Oh and also! Your hair came out really good by the way! I love it! Comment Back! Thanks!
I think it'll look awesome! I found a website for you with a bunch of positive reviews of your shade and I posted it on your profile.
I'm not sure how long it will take to fade on your hair since it's strawberry blonde(the box says it lasts 28 shampoos), but i'm sure it will eventually fade. I hope this helped!
OGahh! Thank you! Yes this makes me feel better! I also have another quick question and sorry to bother you! Do you know of any awesome self tanners? Thanks! Lemme Know! MWAH!
My favorite self tanners would be the Micro Mist Tanning Sunless Spray by Neutrogena, it's impossible to mess up because it distributes the tanner in such a fine mist! Plus it has different color options so you can pick how dark you want to go.the other is a tan towel by Comodynes, which is a brand from Spain, that uses a sugar base so it doesn't smell bad at all(why i love them!) & gives a beautiful even color/glow. They are a little more expensive, but i love that you don't smell like tanner.
No, the whole natural instincts line is non-permanent, but the manufacturer, Clairol, makes other lines such as Herbal Essences permanent hair dye(which i love!!).
I have used Natural Instincts before and while the colour turns out nice and hair looks very glossy immediately after the first application and hair wash, the product does dry out and damage hair in my experience.
