"Right On Be Free" was something of a commercial hit worldwide (Elektra), 1970, and they toured the UK on the strength of it. They later signed to Just Sunshine records for two albums and a clutch of 45s, including "Cashing In". Following it's initial spins at the Highland Room @Blackpool Mecca in 1975, this became by far their most popular underground 45 in the UK, and is now regarded as a Soul classic.

Unfortunately I never saw those wonderful folks again. They faded into oblivion I believe and I'm not sure whether they produced music that created a CD. It was a special moment in time and they work a self developed group that had just come out of Harlem. I am not sure that they had performed anywhere else. And the energy they projected on the stage was a new to most audiences that were used to the rising Black Pride music groups.

One of the most powerful live performances I've ever witnessed. The context of this group singing this song within Sing Sing in the later Civil-War/Black Pride era -- Damn! And the funk they are all laying down -- Amazing! I go back and view this clip almost daily. That is raw, honest, emotion from the performers and audience. It just doesn't get better.

@718xad Thank you for your comment.  I know the feeling. The emotion I feel is for these girls and this time and the pride that they feel and the hope that they feel. They were an extraordinary group and they faded into oblivion for reasons I know not.

It's Called Right On Be Free,from the album of the same title.I still have the orginal album.My father bought it when it came out when I was a kid.It's still one of my all time favorite albums.The whole album really hits you in the soul.
