Nashad (meaning unhappy ) and Naushad (meaning newly happy) were two different music directors. Nashad, who composed some exceptional songs, was not so well known so people mix them up. Nashad later migrated to Pakistan.
What we can see is what we cannot see. It is the foundation of Indian cinema hidden by all the new decorations of the garbage we get today. See for yourselves how strong and solid and beautiful the production from that era was. I can only sit down and appreciate. Hats off to all.
Naheed You won't be to able to forget me. You will sing with me whenever you listen my songs. Show some deference for our love in past. Say something. Do talk to me, please. I will disclose my secret of heart to you. Do understand my silence, please. I have spent my life remembering you. I have effaced myself in your love. How much you are going to test me now? I loved you secretly. I have devoted my life for you. Who pined in your way. You will realise when you think of it.ALI NEW YORK
Its Ajit, Music by Nashad...not Naushad. The famous Tasveer banata huin, tasveer nahien banati.... by Talat Mehmood... Mohobbat ki bas itani dastaan hain... by Rafi... Bhoola nahien dene ji bhoola nahien dena... jamana kharab hai daga nahien dena & many more... in fact it was a musical film... in fifties.
@bxj55 He is not looking into the camera. He was just looking at the director standing beside the camera asking him "how I am acting, do you like it or you want me do better??By the way see the song "zindagi bhar nahin bhoole gi wo barsaat ki raat" in which Madhubala sitting in front of radio looks into the camera for a split second.
@ Dilip: The song is indeed from the film "Baradari", composed by Nashaad (don't mix up with Naushad). Another superhit song from the film was "Tasveer banaata hoon, tasveer nahin banti" (Talat Mahmood)
Geeta bali gita bali gitabali I can go on and on repeating this name what an expression on the face when she is singing toba .Please God bring her back we want to see her
No wonder Ajith is a hero, See him in " Dholak " songs tuned by " Shyam Sundar " and Heroin is Meena shorey ( Laara lapa girl ) . Ajith ( Hameed Ali Khan ) born and expired at our Golkonda-Hyderabad. You can easily recognise his son in " Andaz apna apna " --Arani Apparao-Hyderabad(A.P.)
Search shows that Dulla Bhatti, the Pakistani film, was made in 1956m while Baradari was made in 1956. Wonder who copied whom. Perhaps both are based on a fok tune? In that case, the antara at least would be different. Why don't you post the Dulla Bhatti song?
Great song... just wonder even after these many years people of my generation loves this song... truely amazing and nicely sung by lata mangeshkar and rafi sahab
Thanks for the post. And please let us not get into Indo-Pak bashing on this forum.Youtube is already full of such drivel being exchanged between the two countries(read the comments on any Kargil video). If not amity, atleast not enmity in newer domains!
The Music Director is not the well-known composer Naushad but Naashad (Original Name : Shaukat Ali Dehalvi). Naashad has composed music for around 30 films between 1940 & 1960 under the names "Shaukat Dehalvi, Shaukat Haidari, Shaukat Ali (till 1953) & Naashad (from 1953 onwards).
Thanks for the info. Even when young, I used to be a bit confused by this name as given on Radio Ceylone in their announcements and used to wonder if it was another person or different pronounciation. Later I came to know that it was another person, but on the net there is still that confusion, so that the composer of some Naashad films might be shown as Naushad. Confusing guy, wasn't he?
by the way. How the hell some poeple are comparing Paki movies with Hindi ones. Even if a Pakistani movie is remade in India it means that Indians want to teach them how not to waste a good story... OK! Let Pakistanis to produce terrorism. They of nothing positive in the world
Are you sure the name you have cited is correct? a google search shows no such movie. If it was there, which year was it produced? Any worthwhile music in it?

At 0:26 Ajit looks into the camera, a mistake which novices do. Sort of spoils the fun.
