  • Seki a le kou sasa !

  • Thank you so much for posting this. I was in this group and I didn't get the polyfest video that year

  • tua seki tatou sasa!

  • Solid!!

  • dam they're HEKKA tight!

  • beautiful faces.xx

  • what does the song means ?

  • I had the honour of being in the group when Natalia was the leader and yes I agree she was by far the best Taupou back in the days. Our 95 victory was one of the best because we pretty much won the same amount of awards that McCauley won that year so it was neck and neck but when they announced the Overall winner for Samoan Stage goes to Auckland Girls Grammar OMG can I just have a heartache.... one of the best wins ever!!.. Class of 95

  • how do people even COME up with these routines? :D

  • It's knowledge and previous experience of being in the group over the years. The leaders that are chosen in their 7th form year would be experienced at this point. It's pretty standard for all schools in the polyfest & it's normally tradition for AGGS to only get support from previous AGGS leaders

  • is there a story to this particular dance? or was this just entertainment? what happened before the sua? and after the sua? .. just curious..

  • lol. I just realised the tutor that took Auckland girls to their 2007 title is in this performance (which is in 2001). Its the girl on the right at 3:01.

  • If you want to watch the Samoan group of Auckland girls 2007 which they won the girls section again just type in "2007 polyfest".

  • eww aggs suck s.m.c waaaaattttt hahahahaha

  • I had two sisters who went to AGGS and my cousin Natala and Easter who in 1991 won the Samoan section when Hillary College hosted. It was my cousin Natalia who won Taupou and then won 4 years straight becoming the first Taupou to take the Ava since then, the winning Taupou takes it after their win, but mah cuzzin Nats won 4 years str8 ... AGGS still the whole Damn show. Their record of 10 yrs str8 winning the Samoan section still unmatched to this day. I went to Otahuhu College.

  • Yeah I know your cousin. Natalia was one of the best Taupou's ever known at AGGS those were definitely the Glory Days in the 90's when AGGS were untouchable so to speak. That's the motivation behind AGGS is knowing we had great Sa group Leaders like Natalia.

  • beautiful!!!!

  • I love this sasa and i think one pake is good! I had never in my life seen a sasa that had more then one pake or apa! I think this is a woderful style, a traditonal style with a bit of modern time! Love it! You guys rock. manaia le sasa!

  • sorry typos all over the show lol... Oh and Siutu who was the drummer was known for the best consistent drummer too :)

  • Honest to who?! Who posted this up? hahaha the good old days... Anyway about this drum business... if you knew wha the criteria was for the PolyFest then you would know why there was only one drum...Teuila is a completely on a different page with what you can can not do.

    Teine O Le Kalama indeed!

  • drums, pake...who cares..Awesome sasa girls, well done Auckland Girls Grammar, NZ, now show the rest of the samoan dance groups around the world how its done! Teine o le kalama...represent!

  • sasa not bowt tha druming anyway!! i agree wit "dunk1814"..

  • i disagree deepa. AGGS is well known for their more traditional approach - swift, sharp and simple but nice with a twist of modern, but not too much as to steer away from tradition. Back in the day only one pake(drum) or apa (tin) was used - so as boring as it may sound to you, they are not a cook island group, more than one drum is unecessary.

  • In the ancient days before Christianity during the wars mainly between Tonga a single pake drum was used to alarm the villagers of an invasion.Should u look back to the history archives of the Traditions and Samoan Sivas u will find several pake drums used to ehance the Sasa. You can view this at Teuila Festivals of today which is still traditional.

  • Yeah Deepa even though it is a nice thought. The rules clearly state that you can only have one pake and one drum for the sasa, nothing more

  • Great sasa excellent. Drumming is a bit of a bore.

It always better with more than a simple beat.More drums the better.

  • Loving da sasa..
