I think she is one of the best young Kathak talent in India.. I do not agree with the comments posted below, that she is on top because of her contacts, and all that crap... I know her personally, and I can tell u any day that she is a very talented and a very devoted dancer... u will be spellbound if you watch her perform live... only those jealous not-so-good wannabes go around abusing her just for the sake of spoiling her reputation...

shambnavi shukla is one of those so called dancers who know nothing of the art called kathak and are there because of her contacts. she looks so stupid ...can't believe how people tolerate her. and her dance is so flimsy.
i would strongly recommend her to humbly learn her basics at least for 3 more years before going on stage

Why are you being so touchy?? There are dozens of A-grade kathak performances on this site for eg. Anuj Mishra, Smriti Mishra, Vidha Lal, Archita Kumar, Sanjukta Sinha, Rajuniru etc. Go watch them. Don't waste your time with her. I do not think I need to prove my love for this art to you. If you had said her abhinaya was weak, and she failed to understand the bhava of the dance I would have accepted that is your opinion. If you had said her chakars were poorly executed and her sense of taal was off, I would have accepted that as your opinion. But you attack her personally, saying she is performing only because of her contacts, or that she looks stupid, smacks of personal vilification and you are trying to insinuate she is a bad person. amazing, expressive face, fast n light on footwork and the rajasthani spins are amazing. ths proves tht jaipur gharana has the lasya and abhinaya part to it as well.
I had goosebumps while watching her dance! The singer is AMAZING, too!
