Honest truth, if you run and get caught but didn't do anything you have absolutely nothing to worry about. Sad but true. I chased a juvenile once and after I caught him, I let him go about 10 minutes later since we had nothing on him. A few hours later, I saw him hanging out and I said with a smile "So why did you run?", he smiled back and said "Just to make you work". We both laughed and went along our day.

If you did something wrong and run, make no question you are not helping out your case. Only a poorly trained LEO would shoot at an unarmed man who they are chasing.
