  • I love that Astrid is the only one with dark eyes

  • Never saw the movie... still i know this song since i was15. I feel like if it is describing a love that was lost forever, a neverending sweet memory, but only that, a memory.

  • @Tigreloaded you should see it, it's kinda sad but very beautiful :,)

  • So sentimental..

  • Have you got notes to this song? I was searching everywhere, and I couldn't find...

  • @MissBlueDreamer if you find please tell me!! Most beautiful piece

  • aaaaaawwwww this reminds me of that feeling!!!!!

  • Thomas Newman is f@cking Genious.

  • yo thomas newman is good

  • So beautiful, it means so much to me<3

  • This soundtrack is such a compliment to the soul. White Orleander is the only movie, with the only soundtrack, that has touched me so deeply. The music sets my heart free.

  • @SLIDEBlunts You should watch The Fountain- Great movie with a Great soundtrack trust me

  • Thomas newman is the most amazing soundtrack artist ever.

  • This song connects to a part of me in such a strong way that very few things are capable of.

  • i love this song its very understanding and moving. the movie was beautiful as well.

  • Thumbs Up if Thomas Newman is your go-to man when it comes to study / essay writing music!

  • this video tells me that there is hope in our world, 39284 views, 140 likes and 0 dislikes. That says it all.

  • has anyone actually read the boo "white Oleander?", it's a brilliant masterpiece, really worth the time for reading!!!!

  • @Daniella26able i have, absolutely loved it. the mother is much more vicious in the book, i didnt like some the sub plots in the book though (foster parents) glad they got cut out the film

  • @yaspaige Glad to hear from someone who agrees with me, it is a brilliant book, and I would definatrly recommend it to everyone that I know.........

  • I love this piece

  • perfect music .

  • Could someone make a piano tutorial for this?

i guess its quite an easy song but i can't do it myself.

btw, beautiful story indeed, but so sad..:(

  • The minor key Newman refers to in many of his compositions haunts like the love you didn't marry but always is with you, even when you are happy with another, the haunting of the path not taken...

  • I got a inspiration from this song and said a prayer. That inspiration healed the relationship between me and my younger sister.

  • thats star Thomas from the movie

  • This is a beautiful piece indeed. I adore Newman's work in general.

I haven't watched this movie, but the score alone is enough to make me want to check it out.

    Thanks for uploading this. =)

  • Didn't they use White Oleander in Revolutionary Road and Road to Perdition also??

  • @prumott08 I noticed while watching Revolutionary Road that the theme sounded strikingly similar with White Oleander's score. It's different, but very, very similar. =].

  • Sad but good movie

  • This song takes me to a place within me that i have never noticed to exist. Thomas Newman has a way of reaching people's emotions through his music. And that is a rare talent that i will appreciate and enjoy till i can't listen no longer.

  • io amo,adoro questo film!

  • Thomas Newman soundracks are awsome. He is music is so amazing, wonderful, relaxing, touching. He's songs seems to tell us beautiful, but sad stories which make we want to thing about the important things in our life. My favourite Newman's soundracks are from: Angels in America, American Beauty, Joe Black, Scent of the women and this- White Oleander.

  • I'm inlove with Thomas Newman

  • i love this truck so much! great one! thanks for uploading

  • who is the 2nd hirl in this picture? I know who the other 3 are...

  • @ViolaVonTassel thanks!! i love forest gump...

  • @ViolaVonTassel dont forget princess bride! sll time most favourite movie ever!!!!! haha

  • @ViolaVonTassel Don't forget about Princess Bride! :)

  • @bluuueyes also from the Princess Bride

  • @bluuueyes she played star:O... the first foster home she went to in the movie?:O

  • @bluuueyes She plays "Star" in the movie

  • A lot of his compositions are, essentially the same sound. Not exactly a style so much as a template, with slightly different notes woven into it.

However, his template does produce astonishingly simplistic, stilling, beautiful music every time, embedded with, somehow, different meaning.

  • @NerdInAnoraks In other words, yeah, I've been thinking what all of you have been saying for a long time.

  • I LOVE Thomas Newman. I really do. I think all his pieces are very haunting and beautiful. But does anyone else think that all lot of them sound a LOT alike? They all have a simple, touching piano with low strings beneath it. I'm totally not dissing him at ALL but seriously, listen to this, "The Letter That Never Came", "Revolutionary Road Theme", and "Nemo Egg".....

  • It sounds a lot like "Road to Perdition" or "American Beauty"

  • Brothers sounds different at least because he mainly uses guitar instead of piano. Also there is finding nemo...

  • I noticed that too when I saw Revolutionary Road. I asked myself "isn't this the same piano score?"

  • @MissKenzieLoVe

go deeper and you will hear the difference.

  • @MissKenzieLoVe of course they are going to sound similar - he is the same person every time he composes. I know where you're coming from, but think about all of the mainstream musicians today such as Taylor swift or idk Robbie Williams. All of their songs carry the same tune and style each time.

  • @MiKKA335 oh I totally agree! Obviously all composers have a certain sound or quality to their music. I just felt that sometimes, it sounds almost like the exact the same melody in his music. I do really love his stuff though. It's really haunting, And yes, I think that most mainstream music today is all just the same generic shit :)

  • @MissKenzieLoVe I concur.

  • the book was sooo much better, they usually are. I read it about 15 times. the movie does no justice to the book by Janet Fitch

  • It´s a lovely song.

I love it, it makes me think so much

  • questa soundtrack..mi ricorda molte cose..è stupenda...

  • Is there any 'how to play (this) on piano"? :-)

  • One of my FAVORITE movies! Beautiful soundtrack!

  • grazie mille!

  • sai dirmi come si chiama la canzone che c'è alla fine, nei titoli di coda del film? non riesco a trovarla da nessuna parte!

  • Safe and Sound - Sheryl Crow :)

  • Bellissimo..

  • love this song, from the first time i saw a movie ..thanx for upoading indeed ;)

  • Thanks for uploading.
