  • One: Anyone else notice the obviously missing tongue piercing that was getting in the way of her talking? Two: She is not a real nuke mechanic, surface nuke mechanics only do half, if not less, that what is available to you on submarines. Three: She was chosen because she is a CCC, it is her job to sling bull. Four: "Eight hour class days" my ass, students are required at least 12 right now (I am currently an instructor). 9-5 working hours? I want her job. This week has been 4-1800 all week.

  • Navy Nuke ET (Class 9836T; last A-school class in Orlando) - did Power School in Charleston (then a brand new facility), and NPTU in Ballston Spa (S8G). Then four years at sea on CVN-71. It's funny seeing videos like this surface these days, back when I joined there was nothing like this to even give me a hint at what I was getting myself into.

  • I did my time and got out! EM. It was hard absolutely! if i knew all the crap I was going to go through and the insane amount of studying i signed up for...........i would do it all over again!

    It was worth it!

Alicia: How did you get picked for the video?

    Nice seeing you shipmate!!! lol

  • That is one weird looking guy.

  • DAYUM, HER LIP GLOSS IZ POPPIN.

  • @Seracila you racist piece of shit

  • My Job is a Mechanist Mate (MM) does this apply to me. I leave for boot camp on March 5th???

  • @LaVitaMusic8557 you're most likely a conventional MM.

  • @LaVitaMusic8557 nope, you do not have Nuclear rating mate. So, it doesn't apply to you. But I think what is common in both MM and MMN is that in both you do a lot of heavy work.

  • @hereisthankappan u don't get the N on ur rating until u get through the pipeline, until then u have the same rate designator(MM, EM, ET) as the conventional folks

  • @zippifymecapitan yep, true that.

  • @LaVitaMusic8557 2 questions: what was ur asvab? are u getting an enlistment bonus? nuclear field require a high asvab in the areas of math, physics and chemistry, also with recent economy issues a lot of rates are not getting bonuses or are getting smaller bonuses, if u are a nuke good luck, its a pain in the ass for 2 years, if not, conventional mechanics are some of the coolest guys on my sub, but every one of them is bat shit crazy, i'm a nuke EM btw

  • @LaVitaMusic8557 You're a conventional Machinist Mate bud. Nukes won't find out what rating they go into until they hit Basic, that's when the needs of the Navy meet their line scores.

  • It doesn't lie, but leaves out a lot of inconvenient truths. Like ~5 years on a submarine standing 3 section duty where you go to work every 3rd day and don't come home until after work the next day, weekends included. Or ORSE workups. And of course the best type of nuc, the engineering laboratory technician. But on the bright side, you do get to walk around knowing that you are Rickover's chosen people, and innately better than coners/airdales.

    MM1(SS)

  • @zauberlichneo very well spoken, well except that part about ELTs being the best nukes, sry had to put that out there, u know every body loves the electricians

  • @SheltonShenanigans

You sound like a tool. Your the reason I don't like talking to other nukes that much. If you still think ASVAB scores mean something then your opinion is moot. I've met some pretty stupid people who scored a 99 on that thing.

  • @Keebs87

    >YOUR

  • @Keebs87 I never said ASVAB scores mean something, I merely commented that not everyone has to take the Nuke Test at MEPS if you get a high enough score on them. Get your head out of you ass, you tend to be able to read better that way

  • @Keebs87

  • Some of her information is incorrect. Not everyone takes the entrance exam, some people like myself scored high enough on the ASVAB to skip the exam

  • Well, it's not misleading. But be forewarned, nukes are held to a much higher standard than topsiders and airedales and often work longer hours and ALWAYS have a much worse duty rotation (3 vs.8 ATM). The $150/month pro pay is better than nothing, I guess. Reenlistmist bonuses are big but the catch is, you have to reenlist!

    /EM2 on CVN-72

  • @edhead81 Reenlistment is the equivalent of saying that life is like a box of chocolate a box of chocolate that you can only stare at , not eat ,or do anything else with... Just stare at it.

  • My father, whom was enlisted, served on submarines, and retired after 22 years, was a Nuke ETCS ( Electronics Technician Senior Chief). I'm in NJROTC, and hope to follow in his footsteps. :)

  • Thumbs Up for Nukes!

  • I am a Navy Nuke. I DEP out monday after next. Bootcamp will be a blast!

  • @iamenjoi you mean you are going to be one, not one yet

  • My dad is an ex Navy nuke, he has a personal holiday for the day he got out.

  • if u have any single friend call me

  • @turkghost72, you obviously was forced to join the Navy through the Draft or something. You obviously didn't volunteer to join Navy. If it sux so bad, give up your paycheck and go home!

  • @mykeith97 The draft isn't active right now. Nobody is forced to join the Military. The only way the draft might get reactivated is if we, the U.S keep getting involved in everything.

  • @mykeith97 You sign up knowing about as much or less than is available in this video, and then you find out what you got yourself into later. Lots of people make decisions they regret. That is why the Navy has you sign a contract when you join, and then they don't let you give up your paycheck and go home just because you don't like it. Otherwise there would be precious few sailors on ships.

  • what they dont tell you is that nukes are the most razzed and usually the most annoying people in boot camp and what they dont realize is most dont give a damn to what you get for a reenlisment bonus

  • @turkghost72 You sound like a jealous airedale, imo

  • @SheltonShenanigans haha hell no SUBMARINES all the way. nah i just put in the obligatory comment since future nukes need to get used to the comments i personally dont give a rats ass either way its just that nukes get on a lot of peoples nerves

  • Third person to say third!

  • It seems that this video was removed and then upload again. Probably due to the fact that this video got lots of negative comments the first time it was uploaded. The reason for all of the negativity is simple...this video does NOT accurately portray the life of a Navy Nuc. Regular job? Not even close, certainly not on a submarine. And yes I speak from my personal experiences as a Fast Attack Submarine Reactor Operator.

  • holy crap!!! is one of the recruiter in the station i got recruited in. very smart but she made study too complicated in during DEP meeting.

  • NICE!

  • Tactical nuke incoming, it's over!

  • Fair winds and following seas.

  • second ^^

  • First ^^
