  • Sometime in 1986, the V of Steel replaced the V of Doom.

  • viacom stands to "VIdeo and Audio COMpany"

  • Is there really a "sped up" version of V of doom?

  • Since when will a full version of the blue-screen V of Doom Film-O-Vision with black V show up? The one shown here cuts off early.

  • This video contains Viacum content, but luckily they didn't block it >:D

  • Pinball is cool.

Viacom V of Doom is cool...

The sepia tone is somewhat traumatic...

    Videotape is scary!

Black and White speed up is scary!!!

1:30 Aahh, thank you for not crashing my TV! *gives cookie*

    V of Doom network, calm...

  • Too Many Viacom logos with the V of doom

  • Oh, and we still need the scary timpani drum version of the "V of Doom"

  • We need another update: "Flashing V" and "Special Delivery".

  • V Mother: V! You naughty little boy, stop scaring people!

    V Kid: Yes, mumma...

    MORE THAN ONE YEAR LATER...

V Kid: AHHHHHHHH! WHY AM I ORANGE?!?

Viacom Wigga: Eh, shutup, soon you'll have a heart attack and zoom into the screen.

    viacom: AHOY, THERE MATIES!

Viacom Pinball: Shut your trap, you'll become like me in 2099.

    viacom: :[=

  • 0:15 rare

  • The "V of Friendship" seems cute ^^ But it also seems sad and lonely because he scared everyone in "V of Doom" :(

  • @ChiuahuaTubeALT

Blue logo on black background must suggest why?

  • my favourite is the one at 1:06

  • @kiltsonfire164 Your right! LOL

  • Imagine looking this in 3-D!

  • @themeter3000 Oh my God !!!!!!!!!

  • Oh crud that grey, black, and white one came in really fast. :P

  • My favorite...pinball @ :05

  • @2000rubs no,it's because of the zooming v that scares the crap out of you and because of the "scary" music, not the "sad" music.

  • if viacom takes this video down,i will get PISSED!!!!!!!!!!

  • :56-:59 *shudders*

  • Why they called V of doom?

  • Logo which begins at 2:23 and finishs at 2:30 is my favourite.

  • Is it just me or does it look like the V stopped at 0:34? I know it did that on rare occasions, but I never heard of a black and white V stopping.

  • I would be f**kin scared shitless if i saw that V zoom in my face in a movie theatre in 3D.

  • viacoc

  • I remember as a tiny kid being terrified of the V of Doom. I think it's because the V looked like like it was about to grow out of the screen before it was suddenly cut off.

    Even now, it's still creepy.

  • Super horrifying V of Doom at 1:12, because of the awful, warbly, poor quality synth rendition of the V of Doom theme.

Anyone else ever notice that you can sing the words "You - are - going - to - DIIIIIIEEEEE!!!!" to the V of Doom fanfare? *shudders*

  • BAHA the dude that says "viacom" in some of them sounds like the guy from mortal combat that says "fight"

  • @Darkdarkseel V of Doom-ality.

  • The V of doom. Freaked me out when I was a kid. The V would just pop out of no where in the center of the screen. Grate montage of Viacom logos.

  • From what I hear, the Pinball logos are exctinct. But its time for mythbusters! I will look on every old show, search every end, and if I do not find it in 2 months, I will declare that it is exctinct.

  • Suggested lyrics for the "V of Doom" theme music (the one with the timpani in the background): "Here...comes...that...big...V!"

  • @wlbaz Those particular words just made the V of Doom that much less scary and much more hammy.

    "You... are... going... to... DIIIIIIIIEEEEE!"

  • I agree with VinylLad...the older logos are nice but they did scare me when I was little. Not scared by them anymore! :)

  • Now, their logo might as well be a pentacle with satanic chants in the background

  • What's with the sound in the early intros? It sounds like a musical sting from a bad retro horror film

  • @cuppajoesugar I couldn't agree more! Perhaps that's why they scared me when I was younger...? I sure as hell don't think they sound like a damn pinball machine, even now!! Good lord, what was Viacom thinking back then?!

  • I prefer these older logos, they maybe creepy but man they're cool! I am not creeped out by them by the way.

  • you're missing the city v of steel

  • @title29 Also the rainbow-y, rare one only seen on the Hawaii Five-O promo, but that ones *really* difficult to find...

  • NOOOOOO Not the V of doom HEEEEEEEEELLLLLP MEEEEE.

  • @IamSally1001 Hey, you can sing those words to the V of Doom fanfare!

    "Not... the... V... of... DOOOOOOOM!"

  • I think I remember seeing on t.v a variant of the V of Doom in which the giant ''V'' keeps on zooming futher and further into the screen after the synthesizer music while the timpani keeps on rolling and it ACTUALLY looks like the ''V'' is going to come out of the screen, but of course, it just fades into black. I have not seen this variant on YouTube. Anyway, nice job posting this logo history video.

  • Holy shit, I actually fell out of my seat because I thought the V was going to get me.

  • ..viacum...

  • Added:

    Colored Pinball V Of Doom

B&W Filmed V Of Doom (slightly low pitch)

Colored Filmed V Of Doom (slightly low pitch)

    Removed:

    Extended V Of Steel

  • May contain static in the sound!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I hope the classic logos get better in the future!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Are there any recordings of the Orange Background V of Doom?

  • @Talic3 There was one on another video site. Look up a Wetpaint Wiki called the Closing Logos Group Wiki, and search for "Viacom". You'll find a video of it on the Viacom article.

  • @ThePhantomSafetyPin Yeah I checked it out, that Honeymooners "3d" V against the skyline.

  • @ThePhantomSafetyPin yeah they rock

  • WHY IS THE V CALLED "V OF DOOM"?

  • May Don LaFontaine rest in peace

  • What is the yellow V Of Doom logo?

  • It was from "The Lost Episodes Of The Honeymooners" that aired on Showtime in the 1980s.

  • @jakestooge34 It was due to a ChromaKey/Greenscreening error.

  • I wonder... What is the Viacom "V In The City" logo?

  • Also, I always wondered if the Viacom "V Of Doom" was on Public Domain episodes of "The Beverly Hillbillies" or "The Andy Griffith Show".

  • Yes, they were!

  • 1971-1976.

  • When did that viacom pinball start and end?

  • Wow, all viacoms logos are scaried...

If was an scariest logos concurse, Viacom was the first

  • Wow

  • The 1:59 one has a super fast "A Viacom Production" Byline with the V Following Behind it. My Favorite.

  • I meant Presentation.

  • awesome! i love these logos! And can anyone plzz tell me where i can find the second logo in this video??

    thanks :-)

  • whats with the v of doom with the pinball theme?

  • That version was used first before the V of Doom theme came out around 1976.

  • @haileyy9jenna1 I agree...they go together like ice cream and Jack Daniel's. Ew.

  • @haileyy9jenna1 that whats the first verison of v of doom 2nd is colored but sill pinball theme 3nd B&W using v of doom theme 4th same as 3nd 5th sepia v of doom 6th colored v of doom 7th colored, best pictured v of doom 8th low pictured 9th AWESOME PICTURED V OF DOOM! :)

  • This was back in the days when Viacom wasn't a b*tch. My favorites are 0:25 and 2:17. And....

    *watches 1:25*

    AAAAAAHHH!!!!!

  • The last time I saw the Viacom Pinball was at the end of an episode of "My Three Sons" on The Hallmark Channel back in 2002.

  • I like this Video

  • I agree on the voiceover.

  • i've never seen that first version of the wigga wigga...with the different music.

  • 1:11 and 1:33 - Hey! The V stops at the end!

But that tune is so f*****g obnoxious.

i think the composer was on sumthin...

  • i forgot wigga-wigga is awesome!

  • because his mother told him to stop scaring people :D

  • None of these logos are scary at all. Not to me, anyway! I've always loved the v of doom.

  • @travis7310 Appropriately enough, I saw one in the wild at the end of an old Twilight Zone episode. It made me happy. :D

  • @ThePhantomSafetyPin I also that episode. That was the first and only time I'd ever seen the V of Doom at the end of "The Twilight Zone". I'm guessing that was an old syndicated print from the late '70s or early '80s. Now they all have the "Wigga-Wigga" logo.

  • @travis7310 Yeah. Me also.

  • @travis7310 my fav is the v of doom with the viacom pinball music

  • I think the V of Doom is creepy.

  • so does viacom own TV?

  • well everything that's good on tv.

  • you forgot the viacom city logo

  • The 1st ever wigga-wigga, I have to admit, doesn't suck b/c of the flute, b4 the one that... I'm not saying it.

  • Don't critize me dude.

  • V Of Doom and Wigga-Wigga. Pinball, V Of Steel, and Viacom-Paramount aren't.

  • I like the new one better. I gotta agree. BOTH are scary.

  • Here are the top 5 in my order:

    1. 2006-?? Viacom Logo w/ Paramount

    2. Viacom Pinball

    tied for 3rd: V of Doom/Steel

    5. Viacom Wigga Wigga

  • surprises me they didnt remove this. FUCK VIACOM.

  • Your forgot the black and white pinball.

  • SCARY SHIT

  • When i was watching a Viacom show The Cosby Showit had the !998 logo not the Flute jingle

  • All hail the V of Doom. ;)

  • Comment removed

  • I remember first seeing the v of doom at my aunt's house. she watches matlock and when the show finished I wanted to see the 'wigga-wigga' logo but the v of doom logo appeared instead. Then I asked myself "how old is the show matlock?" because the synthesizers in the v of doom jingle implied that the show was made between the 70's or 80s decade.

  • VIACOM...We own your ass!

  • Viacom might as well just change their name to "We Own EVERYTHING"

  • @rockergirl83 To the V of Doom theme: :"We... own... ev...ery...thiiiiiiinnnnng!"

  • Thanks to the people at Time Warner Cable for pulling the plug on all 19 channels owned by the V of Doom as of 12:01 AM last night, and Happy New Year!!!

  • Yeah, that sucks.

  • chill dude they are back

  • Did you know that didn't happen, "HomeoftheGoodGuys"?

  • pinball: funny, high pitched (last one), creepy.

V of doom with pinball music: a warning that soon v of doom music will come

    V of doom: scary

    Silent V of doom: peace

    3d V of Steel: weird

    Wigga Wigga: cool

  • the one at 1:00 should scare you (it doesn't scare me, though)

  • oops my bad 2:25 where it has the weird happy song and the guy goes "Via-Com" as a matter of fact all of those use to scare me where the guy said it

  • The 2:25-2:50 ones actually SCARE THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS OUT OF ME SINCE I WAS FIVE which was around 1996!

  • Not the 2:25. The 2:30 to 2:50!

  • I remember the ones before that with the growing V back in the 80's! Oooooh I had nightmares!

  • the one at 2:225 always scared me when I was little

  • Man, the V of Doom gave me nightmares as a kid. It creeped me out so much that even the V of Steel scared me...just because of the V! Thanks for posting and helping me exercise my 20 year old demons lol!

  • Don't u mean "exorcise" lol

  • in the VERY first logo, does anyone know what font that would be?

  • It's the bold version of the typeface Peignot, from Linotype.

  • I once knew it, but I can't remember; if I knew I'd tell u.

  • wicked like screen gems evil s

  • Has anyone ever noticed on the Nickaloaden games that it says ©Viacom. I never saw Viacom V of doom, Pinball, V of steel or the new Viacom which says "A paramount company." ←That really makes no sense so did Viacom buy Paramount or did Paramount buy Viacom? The only Viacom logo I saw was the wigga-wigga without voice saying Viacom on WWTBAM. Sooner or later Viacom might invade and buy Disney.

  • @TheWiihardcoregamer God help us all if Viacom and Disney merge...:(

  • Comment removed

  • There is also an abrdiged normal speed V of Doom which I saw on "The Twilight Zone", and an abribged V of Doom in Warp Speed that I saw on episodes of "Gomer Pyle USMC". There is a V of Doom Ghost that can be heard with short Wigga Wigga on "The Twi Light Zone.

  • What is the 4th Logo with the black and white V and Pinball Sound Effect from?? and the 2 after tht?

  • I remember some of these from my childhood... Particularly "duhnnn-ticka-ticka-ticka-ticka-duhnn-VIACOM"!

  • Your missing some logos from this montage. There's the "V of Steel" logo where the V shines three times. There are a few other variations of the "V of Steel". There's a B&W variant, a silent variant, and a variant where the V does not shine at all. There's also an early version of the "V of Steel" which could only be seen on the 1986 Honeymooners Reunion Special. There's an extremely rare variant of the "V of Doom" featuring a golden V which was used on syndicated prints of The Honeymooners.

  • There's a black and white and silent variant of the "Wigga-Wigga" logo. There is a silent variant of the 2000 Viacom logo. There is a black and white variant of the "Pinball" logo. There is another version of the "Pinball" logo which replaces the red backround with black. I could go on and on. This montage is far from complete.

  • yeah I remember the black, white and silent variant "Wigga-Wigga" logo. It was grayish instead of blue.

  • I just realized that the extended V of Steel (where the V still shines about 2 seconds after the music ends) isn't here! Was this an accident?

  • Those later ones sound like when you turn on a Playstation game.

  • If you like Viacom, please comment and PM me,

  • Not too many people on YouTube like Viacom. They sued YouTube because people were posting videos like full episodes of South Park and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. YouTube was forced to remove all of the videos that were copyrighted by Viacom. This angered many YouTube users. That's why a lot of people on YouTube hate Viacom. It's suprising to see that someone on YouTube actually likes Viacom.

  • I don't agree with their practices, but they had a good syndicating legacy and some cool logos. I can get over their Youtube shenanigans and admit their legacy in the classic element.

  • Benjamin: Generally speaking people that work for Viacom and are paid to put "ILUVVIACOM" comments all over Youtube only "LUVVIACOM" because ... well, you get it.

tl;dr I'd bet money that's spam right there.

  • I'm sure a lot of people have noticed that the last 2 Viacom logos contain the confusing byline, "A Paramount Company". I wonder why that became the byline.

  • That doesn't make any sense. Viacom isn't "A Paramount Company". It's the other way around.

  • Well, by that time, Viacom Productions and Viacom Inc. had become two separate entities, with Viacom Productions owned by Paramount, and Paramount owned by Viacom Inc.

  • to benjaminvlz:

Viacom Productions was owned by Paramount Pictures Corporation, and then "BIG" Viacom fused Viacom Productions into Paramount, thus turning Viacom into...

PARAMOUNT TELEVISION DISTRIBUTION! Which would later become CBS/PARAMOUNT TV DIST., which today is now the disappointing...

    CBS Television Distribution...

  • ...which ironically is back to what the old Viacom basically was in 1971, a distributing arm for CBS, much like MCA-TV was for Universal, and Screen (Scream) Gems for Columbia (Films).

  • You forgot the B&W "Pinball" and a couple of others.

  • No, the B&W Pinball is there

  • Isn't that the dark one?

  • Yes, right at the beginning.

  • Well, there is a dark one that isn't a black and white one.Look it up on closing logos wiki and you will see what I mean. The problem is that it's hard to tell because we don't know what show its from.

  • The B&W logo might not be there, but at least its as close as you can get for now.

  • 0:25, that was creepy and unexpected! Where's that one from?

  • The v of doom logo doesn't look scary to me

  • Yeah, but did you see it as a child watching TV on your own?

  • I haven't seen that color Pinball V of Doom in years! My favorite Viacom logo! At 1:00, The blue film-o-vision "A Viacom Presentation" jumps at you too fast! Scary!

  • I agree. The Vs are all "in your face." It's like the hand of God reaching for a sinner. *shudders*

  • @esetorsido "Big... V... in... your... FAAAAACCCEEEE!"

  • The logo at :15 looks extreamly rare. What show or movie was it found on. Holy shit!!!The logo at :29 was made in 1976 but it looks like it was made in 1940 hahahaha. Just cuz Viacom owns comedy central doesn't mean they can boss Youtube around. Youtube is a innocent worldwide website posting stuff FOR FUN. Thanks for the comment responce Shedeed.

  • You forgot the low toned wigga-wigga variant! Other than that, nice work!

  • The logo's are really cool but the fuckheads at Viacom are extreamly selfish.

  • I second that!
