Sad how ignorant people are about dog breed. I am a German Rottweiler breeder and hate the cruelty involve in doing tails! But people don't care what they put a 2 day old pup thru to get what they want! So much personality in a tail! You have nice dogs! Enjoy your guys!!

having raised some champ bloodlines , the tails were clipped until recently for show dogs , however it is now coming back into common practice to leave there tails . both appear to be rather young rottys they do not feel out to their full potential till around 2.5yrs of age .

i doubt the larger one is a full rott, ive never really heard or seen one with a tail curled like that. He sorta does look like a full blood when you subtract the tail.

I don't know if you know anything about dog body language, but the only reason why his tail is up that high and curled is because he is being dominant. That is a purebred Rottwieler. One of my best friends was a reputable breeder, he stopped breeding them because he couldn't find any responsible homes to take them in.

Well if i can say something about that , rott is supposed to be a protection dog , in lebanon we have dog fights and rott with tails are useless cs they will be playin with the tail all the time which spoil the dog, and its a weak point if he is fighting against a bull terrier or a pitbull ,i might be mercyless , i know but rott as i said its protection dog and its not for fancy looking , its not fancy its a agressive

If done properly tail docking is relatively painless. Like a circumsision is for human babies. If done right docking is done only 1 or 2 days after the pup is born and their nervious systems aren't fully developed (this is also when dew claws are removed if necessary). Personally I love all rotties tail or not. But there really is no harm done either way as long as it's done right.

When they doc dogs tails they are normally like 1 day old, the nerves haven't formed yet so they feel no pain at all. Sunnieshine get your facts right before insult people.

If dogs are used to work, whether in the field or other working activities its better to dock the tail as otherwise they can get caught or snagged and get infected, in the end the tails need to be amputated and it puts the dog through alot more suffering! Much more humane to doc when there 1 day old and they cant feel it!

A rittie is a rottie tail or not. I love rottie tails. but mine doesn't have one :( pain yes when it is cut off and shortly after. do i think it should mean people think one dog is ugly and another pretty because of a tail, no thats dumb, it's time we stop chopping limbs off animals.

They usually only dock their tails in Italy but only if its a full breed. If its mixed with another type of dog than they don't dock the tails.
