While i like the music i'm not sure i get the point of having to split and find a separate identity within a genre that already is a giant sponge of kids from all over both internally and externally fighting and struggling against themselves and their culture. though even that isn't new or unique to the punk movement. we fight so hard to not be labeled and then we tag ourselves as niche as we can and then tell others they don't get it and it is broader than it is.
@Riez93 Becuase it is fucking amazing. Allah’s too big and open for my deen to be small and closed. Does that make me a kufr? I say Allahu Akbar. If that’s not good enough then fuck Islam, you can have it. Imam Hussain said, ‘he who has no religion, let him at least be free in his present life.’
taqwabore is a fitting title. i was intrigued by the idea of taqwacore until i heard it. what the fuck... western scales? really? i was expecting dudes on sitars and shit and music as aggressive and explosive as their cousins in the taliban. im thinking taqwagrind needs to happen. whos with me?
There are reasons why people have anger. Better to sing about it and pray no one causes it, then again, who could know what anyone's been through in a warzone, unless they actually were there?
Thanks you. I think literalism of all types is a form of mental disorder, with the particularly pernicious type: Irony Deficit Disorder. You also got the point on the Muslim angle. BTW, people saying many ME countries would allow this - well, maybe that's another point of this! Ya think? And hullo, they played in Pakistan. Not all Muslim countries are the same, not all Muslims fit into a homogenous stereotype.
Now, having said that. I think these guys have potential
Taqwa-Bore is more like it . The only thing worse than religious punk rock is Religious punk rock played by none religious phony bitches like everyone in this video . and also Kominas your dumb singing about suicide bombings is fucking dumb ... you must know suicide is not permitted in islam . another proof point the kominas know nothing about what they claim to be .. Punks don't lie in their message , religious people don't practice anti religious acts .
Taqwa-Bore is pretty good, I must admit. You're entitled to your opinion, but it's silly to bring up Suicide and Islam. Have you no sense of irony? When the Sex Pistols sang God Save the Queen, do you believe that they really wished for God to save the Queen? Don't be a literalist and maybe listen a bit more closely. This isn't religious rock - its punk music expressing how it feels to be Muslim in the world today. Not the same thing at all.
but these people don't know what it's like to be muslim in the world today because the very fact they play in a band means that they do not follow the teachings of the religion which in turn means they ain't muslim .
what a bunch of bullshit, these idiots are trying to present themselves as non-conformists who don't adhere to islamic values or those that are western, but in truth they conform very nicely to western punk values; which include act like a retard, talk shit and waste life being an unproductive member of society. the sad thing is these people are rejected by most muslims and probably by the punk scene as well, making them the biggest freaks in society.
- It's suitable with every culture but basically it remains the same.

By the way stop using the word "Sharia" all the time. You idiots don't even know what it means and your unobjective media wants to make you believe that Sharia is about chopping hands or something like that. lol.
no one should have to get ready for Sharia Law unless its what you belive in as a Hare Krishna i would never demand that the beliefs that i support become a law, the issue with Islam and Christians is they feel that if you dont belive as they do that you are somehow going to there version of hell, follow your heart and beliefs but let others pick for themselves what they want to belive in..... HARE KRSNA

you all have talent, too bad it's misdirected

How can it be misdirected if they are being true to themselves? Isn't that the truest form of art?

@Tikiwargod art is up to the receiver, no matter what the creator does to direct.
