  • Interesting :)

  • That guy has such a funny accent I thought it was a parody or something at the beginning XD

  • exelent!!!!

  • Great video, quite informative. Your scope looks nice, too. It would be interesting to see the mixed signal of the two waveforms.

  • @e7ektro Due to the not so optimal video quality, i wanted to create a new video with the improved sync of the MonoMiK featuring phase modulation :) But i didn't find the time yet. Having the mix added to the graph might get a bit complicated, as i need master and slave, which already fills up both channels. Maybe i should get a Gould 1604, which sports 4 channels :)

  • Hey, good job! I've been working on a sawtooth oscillator with sync as well, I would appreciate your feedback on it. Did you use a highpass filter to generate the sync pulse? I thought about using digital logic to govern the sync process, but it was challenging. Thanks for sharing.

  • Hi. I wouldn't call it a high pass filter, but in fact, you're right - it's nothing else. You need to isolate the spike from the pulse wave for the sync, which in my case happens on the "receiver side" in the VCO because the sync stuff is routeable and i plan to also enable sync to sub oscillators and so. Digital logic might be a bit bloated for this. Just keep it the traditional way, works fine.

  • cool :) btw, you have the same make or soldering iron my college uses, lol.

  • Just one of the many soldering tools i have. Saved it from trash a while ago. I didn't like the Weller stations during my education (we had the same there) because of the force of the magnetic sensor, but meanwhile, i really love it. Good stuff to work with if you get used to it. Even for SMD.

  • great video!

  • Fantastic demonstration! Thanks!

  • Very helpfull! thanks!

  • Hey thanks! I have a question, do you know what soft-sync really is? In my experience, different synths do different things, for example the Alesis ION reverse the phase for every positive zero crossing, while I still don´t understand what the Andromeda and DOTCOM (Q141), or the Moog 921B from which they´re based on, really do. Can you show any example? Thanx in advance!

  • Soft sync is best described by "hard sync not working correctly". You see with hard sync, the sawtooth is always ripped down with the sync pulse. With soft sync, this usually doesn't happen always, but only if the current sawtooth level is below or above a specific level. Another alternative is that the wave isn't fully ripped down, just a bit.

Will post videos about this and more unusual waveforms soon, when i have 2 VCOs on the breadboard to demonstrate it.

  • Thanx! Looking foward to those videos!

  • coole sache das

    thx for the vid

  • Hey that's a very good demonstration! Thank you for putting that up:-) vielen Dank, mein Herr!
