  • Informative.. I am going to try this today..

  • All u fucking morons commenting on her accent, do u think u r professors in English. I wud love to hear ur accent as well and then U will see how I can mock ur accent as well....We are Indians. no Indian can speak perfect english as it is not our native language...understand that

  • what do u guys all about English .. dude I tried, it is very simply and easy to prepare with a great tasty ;)

  • fantastic presentation, brief and to the point!! well done!

  • hey guys focus on how to make fish curry rather than try to find her mistakes........she did well.good presentation.....

  • hey guys focus on how to make fish curry rather than try to find her mistakes........she did well.good presentation.....

  • i thought this was cookery video.. seeing some people comment on her english accent, i wonder if they thought she was giving some english lessons :). people who commented on her english, better improve their perception skills. .the title has it clearly mentioned- "how to make kerala fish curry- cookery show" and not "how to improve the english accent of keralites- lecture demonstration"..

  • @lekhaa3583 Indeed the pronunciation is wrong. the word saute is pronounced as "saught". refer to Mcmillan dictionary com. Let me tell you why this is happening. In Kerala students go to colleges to stike, and go along with Hartals. We have a global exposure now and it is better to learn in the proper way. Indians are the laughing stock of the world when it comes to speaking English. Stop watching stupid malayalam tear jerking movies, instead watch English movies! easy way to learn English!

  • @tvm19891992 I think you probably went to Harvard university or was it Oxford? In Kerala students go to college to study and not just how to speak English. We have better things to learn. We learn from strikes and hartals too.The mother tongue of Kerala is Malayalam. But you could see Malayalis in every country. If people can read English they can see that this video says "How to make Kerala Fish curry" not how to speak English.I couldnt help replying being a student who went to college in Kerala.

  • @lekhaa3583 ,really lekha i support u

  • It looked delicious which I am sure it was. I would love to have tasted it. She was not a bad presenter and please don't be too hard on her.

  • This is one of the worst presentation i have seen in a long time. She doesnt take time to explain how long to cook and the amount of ingredients to use.

  • May be this is one style of cooking Kerala style fish curry but definitely not the popular one, there are at least three other popular styles than the one in this video....

  • looks good

  • excellent presentation

  • Stop commenting u stupids!!

  • Nice work, keep it up !!

  • dear.u should give some other name for this curry.

  • Pls Stop using English...You guys are destroying the language... Pathetic accent....Check the grammar...Its really irritating when you speak English like this...

  • Guess you too are from India, and also i am 1000% sure that your English is also not perfect, most of the people no matter however expert or well versed they are in a foreign language will surely have a touch of accent and influence from their mother tongue , if you find it hard to believe just record your own English conversation and play it , you will find it amusing that even you are having an accent. nothing personal but please don't criticize others like this , rather try to encourage !

  • hooo...You think that she is speaking English....So funny...If you think so then better learn English and then comment on this.

  • All right dude, i will learn some english, btw what language is she using then Linguistic Lord ? Also your comment says "Please stop using English " , what were you thinking when you typed this ? I wonder how can people have such weak self esteem that their ego gets hurts even at rational comments . All i wanted to convey was its very easy to criticize , but rather than doing that we should try to appreciate good efforts and also acknowledge the fact that no ones perfect..

  • Also one small request master, if you may upload a small video tutorial on English pronunciations and accent neutralization it would be very beneficial for people like me,for i can hope to learn some English ..also everyone would get a feel of the English pronunciation of the master :)

  • No use in just replying for my comments....If you think that she is speaking good English then i cannot help you...I know that i speak better English. I am a communication specialist and i cannot listen to such a crap....that's why i am posting comments on this video...Nothing to Hurt you or to hurt her....Just a comment..And if you take it as a feedback then u will learn what is Good communication...

  • Deepu...I am not here to hurt anyone....If i had hurt u then, i am sorry about that......

  • Hey come on bro i am not hurt, but i thought that you got a little hurt over my comment after i saw your reply to that, and i am sure that girl would have got really hurt after seeing your initial comment..

There is lot of use in replying to your post, by replying to you i am expressing my views on what i think i right , not only to you but to all those people who cares to read this and its up to each individual to agree disagree or be indifferent.. so here i go...

  • Before i start i would like to tell i dont know this girl, was obviously searching for some fish recipes..but did not like a few comments posted here..

I am not saying her English is perfect or she is flawless with her grammar, what my point is we all have accents , none of us is the ultimate authority in grammar, so if you feel you cant tolerate it , try to correct it rather than leaving harsh demotivating remarks,I mean we all were a starter at some point , we all had our stumbling blocks!

  • There was a time even Husain Bolt crawled . Especially people who think are experts (and i am sure they are) should be more encouraging , because they should know the value of correct usage and proper pronunciations more than anyone else !

  • Thank you for making me active....however i love Fish Curry....How about you Deepu?

  • :) , was not a fan but off-late started developing a taste for it , the omega-3 acid factor , i am a pure non vegetarian, and started to realise that i wont live long if i eat meat and chicken on a daily basis :)

  • I am very new to this posting comments and all, i wont even create an account if a portal allows access to all features without that, i use internet extensively , but never got involved in posting comments etc, so these are one of my first few comments on youtube or anywhere , thank you for getting me involved :-)

  • All kindz of north indian behenchots enter forums here...if you dont understand her english just fuck off madarchod...dont comment on her....

  • very poor.kettiyoon thungi chavumee.........

  • GOOD PRESENTATION KEEP IT UP

  • what?

  • simple and good...thax

  • she looks like someone slapped or spanked her and asked her to be there... so freakin' unmotivated!

  • @Desi4evah

    That's the Keralan style

  • This was a good presentation, Nice to see the lady wearing traditional saree. Her facial expression and speech reflect a combination of shyness, simplicity and efficiency that is typical to Kerala women and appreciated in many developed countries. English with Kerala accent is OK. It is spoken in numerous accents around the world. At home, Malayalis use very less English in regular conversation or business.

  • She did a good job, it is her version of Kerala fish curry. No complains on that. Exceptions to errors on phuli and should be smiling occationally to appeal the audiance.

She is a malayali and speaks with malayali accent. I am proud she is not faking herself with english accent that is the worst thing we should hear from American born malayali, neither they could speak english properly and malayalam is a disaster.

  • good let me try this today.

  • dumb video

  • zzzzz

  • Hey...the curry she made was good...its her own style...why are you keralites pouncing on her like that....I thought keralites had so much unity...its sad to see the way u r treating her...poor girl.

  • stupid .... soory to say that...who put this vedio plz change it as soon as possible...its better for v mallus..thank u..

  • its shme for who knows cooking

  • It worked for us, and we enjoyed the curry! Thanks for the video

  • Star anise is a garam masala strong flavoured dried flower in the form of a star... The girl used garcinia cambogia in this fish curry that is kodam pulli in malayalam...a family of kokum she had wrongly spelled the ingredient... :)

  • cmon guys...just because she made a couple of mistakes does not mean she does not how to cook...thers no right or wrong in cooking...maybe what appeals to you may not appeal to her...

but when your making this kind of fish curry...i mean when you add coconut milk to fish...you need to shallow fry the fish on both sides to get a nice texture and not to let the raw flavor fish into the gravy.

  • @sebyjoseph I too was under the impression that fish had to be fried on both sides when using coconut milk in the curry, but after using it her way, I find it not too bad at all. Raw fish cooked in coconut milk taste pretty good, although fried first would definitely taste better.

  • welldone.but you need to use some spoon for putting ingredients in the pot and take clothe in the other hand to keep your hand without burning.all over the world will watch youtube.indian must be the first in everything.you have showed all steps very well.thank u and congrats

  • The girl can't cook.

  • hopeless people.....

    and hopeless video....with anchor...

  • Star anise= Star fruits????

  • kokum- type of tamarind i guess

  • Shame on cookery show people. The veiwers Know better than them.HOPELESS.

  • i like her indian english accent"garlick" lolz.sovy to mention...but on the other hand she is trying hard to reach wide audience.very nice

  • I like your malayalam accent. Cocknut for coconut. You look beautiful, so it helps to smile and show your teeth. The cameraman is shaky; is he afraid of you?

  • its funny when she says at the end of it all..now we'll change this into another dish!i was like huh?!!then i realized she meant transfer it to anotehr dish :)

in any case..this is not the way traditional kerala fish curry is made.

  • she looks like a flight attendant....(no offense.)

  • 2. Soak tamarind in warm water for 15 minutes. If its available in a local Indian store, use the dried tamarind rind curls which look almost black, not the tamarind paste (different plants). A few (3 or 4) curls are enough, and soak them in about a cup of warm water.

    3. Blend a few teaspoons of chilli powder, half a teaspoon of turmeric, a little ginger, garlic and maybe a quarter onion and a few curry leaves. Set this paste aside.

  • sexy girl

  • syheti make da best currys fool wtf was dat

  • what is this is it a fish curry ? very bad, this like a fish in the water very poor. dont show stupid things in you tube

  • Sorry young lady. I think your curry is sub standard. Didn't mean to be rude....your method is unacceptable to a kerala christian...who makes the best fish curry ever. Please people (binu 129) don't be rude by saying we like to see you nude and all that crap. Be civil and have some respect. Sorry, you have no respect for women. Do you want to see your mum nude!!Well! good breeding comes from home. Anyways thanks for your time young lady in making this clip.

  • Yeah, Kerala Christians are known for their cooking skills. Secret Bible recipes, methinks.

  • u should try eating da real fish curry in actully taste like its cooked

  • this is the worst cooking show ever....it takes time to make fish curry....NOT JUST 10 MINS....i bet its raw like sushi....it dosent even look right.its not supossed to be white after it is cooked..its suppossed to red..at least the outside is...HORRIBLE

  • Thanks for the instructional video. I first tried this dish at a Kerala restaurant in Bangalore, and consider it to be one of my favorite Indian dishes. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, and there are no such restaurants here. The recipe seems straightforward and all of the ingredients can be purchased locally, so I'll definitely be trying my luck at home!

  • Hey, this recipe is way off track. My mom and aunts and grandmothers all cook this amazing curry, and NONE of them cook it this way. :) They would flip if you told them to add coconut milk in this curry!

Heres a simple and easy way to cook this is:

    1. Fish pieces - you can use any fish. Fresh is better. King fish, Pomfret, Sardines, Mackerel, Salmon etc.(yes salmon! I know Keralite purists are aghast but salmon tastes good in this curry!)

  • Fiji Indian people are South Indian and they add coconut milk to their curry, for that matter so do the Punjabi friends I know...

  • 4. Pop mustard seeds in a little oil (coconut oil gives a nice flavor but its optional), saute these in this order: 1 tablespoon each of ginger and garlic, a sprig of curry leaves and one onion; set that aside also.

    5. Heat a bit more oil in that same pot, put in the blended paste, cook it for a bit till the oil separates and comes to the top. Add the tamarind water with the curled tamarind rinds. Stir and cook for a minute, then add fish pieces gently.

  • Simmer for 20 minutes or till fish pieces are cooked. Stir very gently while cooking so the fish pieces dont break.

    6. Add the sautéed onion/ginger/garlic and stir gently, cook for a few more minutes.

Theres your Kerala fish curry enjoy!!

P.S. Dont add coconut milk thats a different curry altogether. Also, some folks add a chopped tomato and some add a teaspoon of coriander powder but most purists dont. You can try with each/both and see how you like it.

  • P.P.S.

Green chillies are also optional. People in my family don't add them in this curry but if you're making a coconut milk flavored curry, they go really well. The spice base in this curry is the red chilli powder, so you don't need the green chillies in addition to it.

That's what I know, but please improvise as you like (within reason of course, lol!)
