This may sound dumb, but here goes.I used to have a copy of a Tracie Thorn solo album.I cannot remember the name of it for the life in me.I hope it isn't just called Tracie Thorn
You just couldn´t expect anything else from EBTG but a GREAT COVER. Have you heard the cover for I don't want to talk about it? It's beautiful. Tracey's melancholic voice is soooo deep and enticing. Lovely.
i am a sucker for critisizing cover versions, normally i will slag them off as a cheap way to get into the charts, being fucking bone idle to not bother writing your own tune, just copy someone else's. but in my opinion this is one of those rare occasions were the whole song is an honest homage to the people who wrote it, simon and garfunkle. well done everything but the girl. a really decent bunch of talented musicians.
Generally a very nice cover. They have nice voices, etc., but I thought the harmony drowned the melody in a couple of places, unfortunately in some of my favorite places. Not so emotionally compelling as the original S & G recording. Also, loses some of the impact of the original's fabulous bass part, although this one seems to be the same notes, at least most of the time.
A superb...and perhaps an even better version of PS's original...

Is it just me or are Watt and Thorn the sweetest people on earth?

I really hate this. And I love Simon and Garfunkel. It;'s the smartness of this I dislike

I don't understand the meaning of covers 100% identical to original version.

Nah it shits all over the original... perfection!
DominicPukallus 2 years ago
@NeverSayNeverToAlway But it's not identical. The vocal arrangement is totally different.

@sibionic I don't know about that. Sounds identical to me. The only difference - female singer.

@NeverSayNeverToAlway No you're actually wrong. Listen carefully, there are indeed differences.

Great cover version and the video has EBTG and Hal Hartley written all over it. They work well together. Can't get better than this really.

Love the light, both literal and thematic.

beautiful. They kept to the addictive harmonies of Simon & Garfunkels original, with just as much soul.

Tracey Thorn is a stunning looking/sounding woman.
