  • I think these graphics are still a "big deal". I'm still impressed by them. Graphics have not made the huge jump from this time that people seem to think they have.

  • @twright778 by 'big deal' I mean you had to have a top of the line card to run the 'next gen' content smoothly. But now any decent budget graphics card can handle them.

  • her boobs are so elegant and shine like diamonds under the tropical sun :D.

  • What is Nostalgic Trip Down Memory Lane??

  • can you say "While I have nothing against technology but please turn off your cellphones." :) lol Im in love with the falls O.o I wish I could play this in HD and yea the only flaw i see is that it was short.

  • I am playing it now :) Big fan is a big fan!

  • I know what you mean about the graphics! I'm thinking of upgrading so I can play the new TR!

  • 9:22 how did u do that :S

  • Yes, Steven Hawking....I am.

  • Finally, an HD video of this game that's actually in HD!

  • Greeting Earthling! :D

  • @iiRock95 don't you mean 'greetings and salutions' ...? ;-)

  • @BladeRunnerBlues it was a joke cause if the voice but Greetings and salutation :D

  • @iiRock95 :D

  • Yeah.I remember buying Legend, thinking it was a good TR game. What I got was something boring and cliche...Awfull and unnoriginal. The worst part was that it was EASY!OMFG!EASY!?Tomb Raider games shouldn't be easy...Only noobs play easy games and TR was never a noob's game untill Legend.I mean,COME ON!Even Angel of Darkness was hard...

  • @flamesdemon19 I think that Legend was great, and if it was longer it was perfect, you can call people noobs, I know i dont care, but you know what is the purpose of games?, they need to make you entertained, so why is it metter if games are easy?

  • @chewpube battyboy yam yam

  • @chewpube noob

  • @StonedAssassinNZL You are the noob.Legend sucks...

  • Its my fav TR

  • which version looks better ? this or the xbox 360 one ?

  • @turgore the PC version is superior, because you get a better frame rate & resolution. Plus you can set all graphical settings to maximum. But on the consoles, you play a version optimised to the limited capabilites of the hardware. But when this game first came out, both versions looked about the same.

  • Nice video. Thanks. I've ordered the Trilogy for my PS3. But what orders should I play them in?!! ;)

  • This game with teh next gen contents on looks better than anniversary :O

  • u sound like a robot......lmfao

  • n-n-n-n-neeed playstation *_*

  • Awesome video to show people what this game looks like. Very thoughtful of you to take the time to make it. I love your references to feeling nostalgic! <3 Legend on the PS2 was the first Tomb Raider I'd ever played but I fell 'in-love' and had to buy the others. I have all of the original Tomb Raider games on PS1 / PS2 and PS3. I recently bought the Trilogy collection for PS3 and am having a blast. I did start playing Legend again but couldn't quite get into it, so am playing Anniversary.

  • @TheLunaFaerie17 I rather enjoyed this game at the time and I loved exploring the mansion. The only problem was that the levels were too linear, but I didn't mind so much because I was too busy enjoying Lara's new moves. After Angel of Darkness, it was a welcome change. I liked Angel of Darkness, but hated the control scheme.

  • @BladeRunnerBlues

I'll admit that I haven't played all of the games yet. Someone suggested I play them in reverse order, seems as at the time, I'd already played Legend. So I bought Angel of Darkness but didn't get very far. The controls are very heavy/sticky, like what you'd expect of a joy-stick game. I will play them one day, when I can either find my memory card for the PS2 or buy a new one. Keep making your video's. They're very helpful! And I loved the Manor in Legend too.

  • @BladeRunnerBlues same here.

I've played all the games and angel of darkness is the wors't in that aspect

  • You have a unique way to do walkthroughs... Thanks a lot for the amazing videos. What a nostalgia, ah? I love Tomb Raider series.

  • Just bought the PS3 HD remake today. Regardless of platform, we fans remain the same. Faithful. I still have my PS2 versions still.

  • @astaroth99 so can you get 1080p for Legend and Anniversary or is that hoping for too much? lol

They were supposed to be remastered in HD, so have you noticed better quality textures in Anniversary?

  • @BladeRunnerBlues Well the box says 720p but i think it could auto upscale. Legend you could tell by skin colour and certain tints, like the ripped dress and the skin tight suits. Anniversary, which I've just started, it's more focused, though the picture is brighter than the PS2 version lara's top and skin have a nice sheen to it haven't played it all though.

  • @astaroth99 I'm buying the trilogy tomorrow. :D

  • Heya :) Nice video. Just curious what is next gen? and why do the graphics look so good? x

  • @burberrybitch as far as consoles are concerned, every few years a new version, or new generation (or gen for short) comes out. eg. PS2 & PS3. When this game came out, the Xbox 360 console had just been released and was able to display HD graphics as well as better textures and lighting. This was referred to as 'next gen content'.

Depending on who you ask, the PS3 & Xbox 360 are the 7th generation of consoles. You could count backwards, but I can only remember upto the Sega Megadrive lol.

  • The commentary is actually quite thoughtful of the Tomb Raider fans. :D

  • I love this game, but i like so much the old-generation version

  • You are right - next generation looks wayyy better !!!

  • I'm wondering why is it, that my HD5870 has problems running next-gen at constant smooth fps :-/ Do I need a patch or something?

  • @TheDohnalek how does it run other games? Can it run a game like Fallout New Vegas smoothly, for example? Also, what CPU are you using? You need at least a dual core cpu.

  • Comment removed

  • @BladeRunnerBlues Nevermind, I installed 1.2 patch and the framerate is fine. Kazakhstan crashes though... maybe next patch ;-)

  • that music is in guardian of light now

  • This vid was great, it made me go back and play it again. I freakin love laura I am anticipating the new laura she is sooo different but very appealing.

  • I got the idol the first time :D , but i did not know how to do that jump shot , that is new to me ! :D

  • @BladeRunnerBlues Hey blade i tried the demo for this game, but it didnt seem to support my xbox controller very well - does the full game have more functionality with controllers / gamepads? Thanks in advance.

  • @Fattness124 Yes it does. Just make sure the controller is switched on and recognised by the PC before you start the game though. Otherwise the game doesn't detect the controller once it's started.

  • the RE5 walkthru got delayed,again,for only-god-knows-how-long.

  • Glad to see U again Blade!! =D

  • well this makes me wanna play all the tomb raiders now just to see the difference in all of em

also do you think the latest Tomb raider will be any good???

  • @Suetakefan I certainly hope so, after the disappointment that was Tomb Raider Underworld. Well, for me at least ;-)

  • Almost forgot, let me compliment you on your videos, specially MGS4 ones, they are great indeed!

  • I got to love seeing the AI on these merc. XD

"Oh my god, there she is! I won't shoot her"

"Don't you mean you will shoot her."

  • Brings back.....HORRIBLE MEMORIES.

Reminds me of the time where Core was gone and Crystal Dynamics came in and ruined EVERYTHING this series used to be.

Tomb Raider 1,2,3,Last Revelation,Chronicles, Angel of Darkness FOR EVER!

    CORE 4 ever!

    DIE CRYSTAL DYNAMICS!

  • @2129261184 Everything was already ruined. TR 1 & 2 were good, but let's be honest, after that the games became a bit monotonous. The developers were under pressure to release a game every year, which compromised on the quality. Angel of Darkness was the final straw and Core were fired and rightfully so. How dare they release an incomplete game?

If anything, CD updated and improved on the TR engine. Sure, there were a lot of annoying things about CD too, but I prefer the new incarnation of Lara.

  • @BladeRunnerBlues I don´t. AOD was not that bad, and the games before where simply awsome, specially TR 1 and The Last Revalation.

The fact is, CORE should have remained in command, but without pressure.

CD made much more than just updating the engine, they ruined the whole game formula----1

  • @BladeRunnerBlues 1-----We went from a game that was virtually non linear, meaning we had to explore literally everything so we could get to the next level, to a game where all you have to do is go from A to B, no challenges at all.

The new games are excessfully easy and linear, they´re for kids, no offense.

We no longer have that fell of frustration, trying a crazy just for week just to get to somewhere, and that awsome fell of happiness once we finally made it, the feeling is gone!

  • @BladeRunnerBlues The fell of exploration is also gone. Before you could jum and grab to virtually anything, and you´d find yourself trying out all sorts of jumps and crazy stuff.

Now the ledges were you can jump to are all Light Grey, which means you know exactlly where you have to jump to, theres no longer the need to explore thing and see for yourself if path A is the correct one, or if maybe it was path C, or even path D.

In CD theres is no path A,B,C or D, just point A and point B

  • @2129261184 yes I agree with nearly all of the points U make but let's not forget that the graphics on those old games were extremely bad(by todays standards). Of course we were jumping at a wall a hundred times to see if we could latch on to something, because due to the limited number of pixels, there wasn't much detail lol.

Even those old games had their bad points and there was always room for improvement. One thing CD improved upon was how Lara moves and U have to give them credit for that.

  • @BladeRunnerBlues Yes, they improved Lara´s movements, improved graphis and the music is not all that bad.

But in the other hand they ruined the most important thing which is gameplay. I almost forgot, the presence of Alister and the other guy killed all the feeling of lonliness we had in the original games,

For me, the bottom line is this: As a stand alone game, it would be awsome as a 1st game in a new series, but taking into account the long legacy, i just can´t call this Tomb Raider.

  • @2129261184 I too felt strongly about some of the things you say. Until I tried to play the original games a few years ago and realised that they were not as good as I remembered them to be. Infact, I couldn't even play them for any length of time, I just don't have that kind of patience anymore lol.

I'm not saying that the games are no good, just that they are not as good as I thought they were. Amazing how things change with time. But at the time they came out, they were truly excellent.

  • @BladeRunnerBlues Well, i understand that you may not be as patient as you where, but a great deal of fans still feel the old ones are much better than this.

I´m one of those, i wanna fell frustrated and challenged and Tomb Raider used to be THE best for that.

If i just wanna relax and have a bang than i´m much better with Ace Combat.

Another thing that frightens me Is MGS Rising, i can´t help to feel it will kill the feel of the whole serious, whats your take on that?

  • @2129261184 as far as I'm concerned, Metal Gear Solid should have been about Solid Snake. But Kojima has neglected him ever since MGS2. We only got to see a geriatric version in MGS4. So if there is no SS in the next instalment, I'm not really interested. Which doesn't meant that I wont play it, but I won't be pre-ordering it or anything.

  • @BladeRunnerBlues Amen to that. Solid Snake and his personality were the hearth and sould of Metal Gear. I´ll probably play the next game too, but i cannot call it a true MGS for sure.

I think that Kojima is actually being ingratfull the the character that made the hole series, and Kojima himself famous, hope he doesn´t regret it some day.

  • Blade, I'd like to ask you something. You said you were using Fraps. I'm thinking on getting it myself. So, does the framerate drops dramatically while recording? Does it make it hard to play?

  • @ErPablosky depends on how fast your computer runs. This game runs at 60 fps on my PC and I was recording at 25 fps with Fraps. A few times the frame rate dropped to 19 fps, but that was about it I think.

A note about Fraps: I'm using version 2.9.6 which allows you to record at 25 fps. But the latest version only allows you to record at 30 fps minimum. I'm not sure why the developers did that. Worth bearing in mind if you live in Europe I suppose.

  • @BladeRunnerBlues Thanks for the quick answer! But I'd like to ask you one more question, if you don't mind. In Fraps, shouldn't be better to set the FPS to 60, instead of 25 or 30?

  • @ErPablosky no, because the higher the frame rate, the larger the file size. It's probably best to capture at 30fps anyway, because You Tube uses either 29.97 or 30 fps (can't remember which).

  • my all time favourate game!

  • First time I been to this channel. I remember this. Why do you sound like a robot? No offense.

  • @GSFCarlJ I'm using a text to speech program.

  • Time for some re-installing

  • lol tomb raider O.o epic^^
